A private jet has crashed while attempting an emergency landing at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic.

I bought a new puppy from an unhoused person named Benjamin. Benjamin was on his bike when I was coming out of the club, just holding this baby (he is and was well taken care of I want to make that clear). Benjamin said “I’m selling him for 20 dollars”. I asked everybody around for that 20 because I don’t carry cash and I was not leaving without this baby (that was in my hands and on my chest at this point). Nobody had cash — or they just thought I was just not okay — the security even recorded the dog and me yall it was just that weird I bet he was like this man really selling this dog for $20 and this woman gone buy it. (And I am tf??)

And is! Fast forward Benjamin rode his bike to the grocery store so I could get the cash. Once inside I told him to grab whatever food he wanted. While we talked — he told me had just gotten out of prison, was living at the homeless shelter the bridge and that he had bipolar 1. I asked him about resources like social security Medicaid etc. — he said he didn’t have any and I walked him through how to get him the help he needs and told him where to go. He wishes me the best with my new baby and told me he knows he’s in good hands. I’m already in love with my new baby. (This was 2 months ago)

I’m so excited to introduce yall to Taz Benji (he’s named after his original father). My perfect perfect baby!

A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse.

The response?

Yank out the instruments and walk away.

That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency.

For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives.

The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident.

That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.
