Angela Rayner says Labour wants to breathe life into the high street.
Walk to Breck Road, Angela, and look at the shuttered premises that used to be a library.
Your council let it close and there are plans to turn it into another betting shop.
Bookies not books.
Shameful.
Ed Miliband said “I want to say to the millions of people in this country, who have been moved & outraged by the plight of the Palestinian people, we hear you. You were right.” Then deproscribe Palestine Action, release the prisoners & stop
arresting people for holding a placard.
Andy Burnham is funding care for the old by making the old poorer, in a country where 2.8 million pensioners live below the minimum income standard and 157 billionaires live above every standard.
Jeremy Corbyn is right.
The Secretary of state for Northern Ireland: "We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to those who showed phenomenal courage across the political spectrum 28 years ago"
Then mentions everyone except Sinn Fein.
For far too long, successive governments have pitted the lives and opportunities of young people against the safety and security of the elderly.
This false political ultimatum is a pitiful distraction from our society’s desperate need for a wealth tax and adequate funding for our public services, social care and opportunities for young people.
It’s not about one or the other. It’s about all of us and how we can build a world that works for the many, not just the few.
I strongly oppose the removal of the pensions triple-lock.
More than 2 million pensioners live in poverty. They will be the ones who suffer the most by taking away pension security.
We must protect the principle of universalism. That is why we opposed cuts to winter fuel - and that is why we must oppose any means-testing of the state pension.
This isn't about old versus young. This is about the super-rich versus the rest. That's why we should be taxing wealth to fund social care for all.
"Its the wrong place to get money from.. there are other places.. the richest 50 families are worth £500bn. Why are we talking about pensioners £12,500 & not talking about a wealth tax. Why is that?"
@UniteSharon says scrapping the triple lock would be the wrong thing to do
Lord Gove: "The thing that is really perplexing to me is why these people have been released on bail.."
Kevin Maguire: "My guess would be, its because the police have found no evidence of terrorism" #GMB
Honest Bob Jenrick this morning actually uses the phrase: "people are waltzing into the country on small boats."
This extremely stupid man excels himself saying this the day after three people, including a child, died on one such boat.
He should hang his head in shame.
Ed Miliband is right to say that people who have demonstrated in support of Palestine and against genocide were right all along.
Match your words, Ed, and de-proscribe Palestine Action, now.
Miliband: "To the millions in this country.. who have been moved & outraged by the plight of the Palestinian people, we hear you. You were right"
So scrap the proscription of Palestine Action. End all arms exports to Israel. Impose sanctions on the Israeli govt & economy.
Ed Balls: "Am I right to say this is a massive announcement"
Wes Streeting: "It is a massive announcement, Ed"
Labour has a majority of 158. Kicking the (social care) can down the road for another 3 years isn't a massive announcement.
Lord Walney: "The idea of calling this a genocide is repugnant.. the way that Ireland made a fuss about this [football match] is reprehensible"
How does genocide happen? Because of people like Lord Walney. There is no genocide without genocide denial
Has @andyburnham been reading Your Party policies?
YP have backed a National Care Service since it was founded.
Now, will he have the courage to introduce a wealth tax to pay for it?
The elderly deserve dignity in old age; the current social care system is not fit for purpose.
Two women attending Thursday’s Redbridge Council meeting were refused entry to the public gallery unless they removed their keffiyehs.
One of the women is Arab, for whom the keffiyeh also has cultural significance.
This requires a clear explanation from @RedbridgeLive.
What specific Council rule prohibited them from entering while wearing a keffiyeh, who authorised the decision, and on what grounds?
If no such rule exists, the Council needs to explain why two members of the public were denied access on the basis of what they were wearing.

In 1984 Dunnes shop worker Mary Manning refused to handle SA goods & was backed by shop steward, Karen Gearon. Both were suspended. 9 colleagues came out in support. The strike lasted 3yrs & forced the Irish govt to ban the import of all SA goods. All heroes
