Market makers have been doing similar things for years to project teams with token loan or call option agreements with the project for market making. They then short it, dump the shit out of the token and then buy back to repay the loan for pennies. Just ask Algorand...
FT: DWF Labs Sues BitGo for $141 Million Over Alleged Early Sales of Locked Tokens
According to the Financial Times, DWF Labs affiliates DWF Maas and Falcon Digital have sued crypto custodian BitGo in London's High Court, seeking $141 million in damages. The plaintiffs allege that BitGo breached OTC agreements by selling Falcon Finance (FF) and ESPORTS tokens before their agreed lock-up periods expired, putting downward pressure on token prices and reducing the value of DWF's remaining holdings. The agreements included an initial three-month lock-up followed by additional vesting restrictions. BitGo declined to comment on the lawsuit. The allegations have not been proven in court.

Raising money is an obligation, not an achievement.
Buying a booth at a crypto conference might be the worst marketing money you can spend.
It’s like a guy buying a table at a nightclub.
Suddenly, he’s surrounded by girls. But most of them aren’t there because they’re interested in him. They’re just looking for someone to spend money on them.
You get plenty of attention, but how many of those connections actually lead anywhere?
Same with conference booths. Most of the people stopping by are just salespeople from other projects trying to sell you something.
You’re paying a premium to attract the lowest-quality connections.
Do the math.
I think people need to realize an important distinction when we say "we are tokenizing trillions and trillions". Its not new assets or new money, its simply putting what exists today in a token wrapper so the things can transfer on a blockchain. Like all tech infrastructure, this won't happen unless it saves people time and money. It will be a race to the bottom on costs to tokenize, if not completely free to monetize some kind of data or order flow. At a certain point, tokenized assets will exceed the market cap(s) of the chains they exist on unless they all gravitate to one main chain (Ethereum) and ETH prices rise quite a lot. Faster cheaper chains will be able to handle more throughput for less, but wont be able to support the economic value securely. Food for thought.
Tokenized assets have grown rapidly, reaching roughly $65b. Yet they remain tiny compared with traditional capital markets’ $300t in assets. Our new GFSR explores the policy and market conditions needed for tokenization to scale safely: https://t.co/Xd1NOgqMla
The best strategy for crypto start-ups right now if you are not already a multi-billion dollar company or don't have government insider ties: don't die.
Any BTC or ETH stolen by the AGI demons, if they are able to crack key pairs, will simply create ultra scarcity as there is no fiat off ramp available for these coins.
A month ago we launched $LAPTOP.
Within minutes, we had a chart that looked like every celebrity rug ever. Completely broken.
I promised you a full independent accounting. Here it is.

You now have three years to ask your crypto friends/family "is it a good time to buy Bitcoin", but we all know you won't do it for another 2.5 years from now.
