Actor & our well-wisher Mrs Swati Reddy in an all natural #Khadi saree with hand-woven Indigo motifs. It took 5 days to hand make this piece in Ponduru. +918072766954 #DesiTude
There is something beautiful about things slow made. It takes days together to convert cotton bolls into thread/yarn by hand-spinning on a charkha, that yarn to be coloured by multiple manual dips in dyes and then hand woven to make #Khadi fabric. Let us help preserve the art.
@SureshSadagopan@narendramodi This does happen in quite a few Khadi Bhandars. Too much centralization of Khadi is part reason for its decline, even at the spinners/weavers level. Private brands, in my humble opinion, can do equally good work in taking Khadi ahead.
Thrilled and humbled by the response to #SarvamThaalaMayam! Let us know what you feel about #STM and if you haven't seen it yet, watch it in a cinema near you.
We are remaking this saree which many of you had loved. Taking orders for this with customizable colour combinations. Block-printed on raw and un-dyed Khadi cotton.
