This is a perspective I strongly agree with.
Too many people focus on individual success, but real impact comes from creating opportunities that allow others to succeed as well.
As someone in tech, I've seen firsthand how difficult it can be to get that first opportunity. Most companies want experience, but very few are willing to help people gain it.
The strongest ecosystems are built when people intentionally mentor, hire, collaborate, and create pathways for newcomers. That's how industries grow, not just individuals.
Wishing you success with the agency and the vision. More people need to think long term and focus on building systems, not just income.
In 2024, I reached out to a guy from Argentina I didn't know he owned a marketing agency.
He told me how he and his brother built it, partnered with someone from Argentina in the US, and focused on growing the business while creating opportunities for others. She was the face of the brand, it was easier for high paying clients to trust them, since they had a partner. I was begging to work with them.
When I was trying to break into marketing, nobody wanted to hire a newbie. Every company wanted experience, it's even harder getting an internship in 2026. Lol
So how exactly are people supposed to get experience?
One thing I've noticed is that we Africans are very good at talking about how much money they've made online, but not as good at building agencies that create opportunities for other Africans.
Go on Upwork and look around.
You'll find agencies from India, Pakistan, the US, Argentina, Eastern Europe, and many other countries.
Where are the Nigerian agencies? They mention Andela. Why not create another Andela, why does every new start up have to be fintech or Ed-tech.
That conversation changed how I saw things.
The goal isn't just to make money.
The goal is to build systems that help more people make money.
I'm not rich.
I'm still figuring things out myself.
But even with the little I've built, I've been able to pay people, employ people, and give people their first opportunity to gain experience. Giving this is less than 2 years in the tech space.
I've seen people learn from me, go on to earn good money, and build careers for themselves.
I genuinely hope they're doing the same for others.
That's how ecosystems grow.
One person helps ten people.
Those ten help another hundred.
Before you know it, you've built something bigger than yourself.
I want us to be more competitive as a country and as a continent. I want us to have a direct impact on the market instead of constantly celebrating individual success stories while thousands of talented people struggle to get their first opportunity.
Bragging about how much money one person made doesn't build an industry.
Creating opportunities does.
I started a small agency last year, and my long-term goal is simple:
Build an ecosystem that creates more opportunities for Africans and Black professionals who have the skills but lack exposure and access.
Someone gave me an opportunity when I was trying to get started.
I'm trying to do the same for others.
That's the kind of impact I want to have.

Metrics such as total registered users, active users, inactive users, and engagement statistics depend heavily on data points being captured from day one. When those tracking mechanisms are introduced later, historical data may be incomplete, leading to figures that appear lower than expected or difficult to validate.
This highlights an important lesson in product development: reporting and analytics should be planned alongside core features, not after launch.
