As a member of the Hillsborough County Planning Commission, we recently received a presentation on the Urban Service Area and the importance of directing growth where infrastructure already exists.
That’s why the Tampa Bay Rays project is such an important conversation for the future of our region.
Redeveloping the urban core is smarter than continuing endless outward sprawl.
Projects like this maximize existing roads, utilities, public safety, and transportation investments while attracting additional private development, housing, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment into the urban core.
If Tampa Bay is going to continue growing, we should encourage transformative projects inside the Urban Service Area that strengthen our tax base and create long-term economic activity.
That’s not just sports policy.
That’s smart regional planning.

@TBBaseballMkt 2 things here:
1) the name calling is childish behavior. Grow up
2) Why don’t you go on @JPPetersonshow and debate your case since you’re always running your mouth on twitter and seem to have all of the answers.

@JJimmyRustler@DeucesTyreek You’re really not trying to compare 6-7 Miami hurricane football games on a Saturday to 81 games of baseball are you? This conversation is over I’m not wasting my time lol

Their stadium is in the middle of a neighborhood with nothing around it lmao
