🚨 CAT STOLEN FROM DOORSTEP DIED TRYING TO FIND HER WAY HOME

A heartbroken family has spoken out after their 16-year-old pet cat died attempting to find her way home after allegedly being taken from outside their house and abandoned more than half a mile away.

Shocking doorbell footage captured the moment a man and woman lured elderly tabby Lola away from her home close to Market Street in Bury before carrying her from the area.

Three days later, owner Naseem Aktar, 51, received a call to say Lola had been found beneath a car outside St Luke's C of E Primary School.

The cat was rushed to a veterinary practice, but vets told the family she had died from dehydration during the hot weather.

The family believe Lola was taken to an address on Surrey Drive, more than half a mile from her home, before being released and left to make her own way back.

For a cat who spent almost all of her life indoors and was frightened of traffic, the journey proved fatal.

"Lola was like a child to us - she was a member of the family," said Naseem.

"She was a non-vocal cat, so she couldn't make noises, but it breaks my heart as you can see her struggling to get away in the videos."

Naseem said Lola rarely ventured beyond the family's garden or a neighbouring boundary wall and would have had no idea how to navigate the busy roads separating her from home.

"We don't know how someone could be capable of doing something like this," she said.

"Lola would have had no idea where she was. Market Street is a busy main road and she was scared of cars, so she would never have crossed it."

The family say their grief has been compounded by the response from Greater Manchester Police.

Naseem believes offences under theft and animal welfare legislation should have been considered, but says she was informed that no charges would be brought against the couple seen in the footage.

"It disgusts me that the police aren't taking action," she said. "This couple are responsible for Lola's death, yet they don't seem to care."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "All lines of enquiry were exhausted and the crime has been closed due to insufficient evidence.

"The person that reported this will have also been given this update via officers who attended."

Lola was later buried in the family's back garden, surrounded by roses.

Drunk man breaks into dog shelter after losing his own dog to cancer.

Staff thought it was a robbery when cameras caught him walking through the kennel aisle after midnight. The dogs were wide awake, watching him from behind the gates, and no one knew what he was doing there.

Then another camera showed him curled up on the floor, surrounded by dogs.

Police say he had been drinking that night after his dog died the week before. Nothing was stolen. No animals were hurt. He was arrested for breaking in, but shelter workers said the footage was hard to watch.

He didn’t come for money. He came because he missed his dog.

@Mr_Husky1 Y'all unfortunately it's ai. Zoom in on the dog's faces, they're phasing through the cages. Some parts of the kennel walls are warping into each other. None of the kennels have that type of wall in the room he's in either, and there's 6 dogs in one kennel with one food bowl.
