Every person in our nation deserves to live free from gun violence.
Last year, we passed the most significant federal gun safety legislation in almost 30 years. But more must be done.
Today, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, I am calling on leaders in statehouses and in the United States Congress to pass commonsense reforms. Make background checks universal, pass red flag laws, repeal the liability shield that protects gun manufacturers, ban high-capacity magazines, and renew the assault weapons ban.
We know the solutions. We just need leaders to step up, show some courage, and act to save lives.
.@POTUS may have stumbled over a sandbag yesterday. But he smartly navigated the debt ceiling challenge that could have taken the whole economy down, which seems more important.
Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Remember the families devastated by a crisis that claims innocent lives every day. The time to act is NOW. #WearOrange@Everytown https://t.co/i1wtBIB9cs
—12.7 million new jobs

—Historic 800,000 new manufacturing jobs
—Reduced the deficit by a record $1.7 trillion
Our invest in America agenda is working.
The story of the Tulsa Race Massacre — an attack waged by a violent white supremacist mob — for too long has been shrouded in silence.
Today, we remember the hell that was unleashed that night — the Black lives lost and Black wealth extinguished.
Our work to build opportunity for communities like Greenwood continues.
It’s time for Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, require safe storage of firearms, eliminate gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability, and require background checks for all gun sales.
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: Trump’s Turnberry golf course has been BANNED by the British Open.
That means Donald Trump will never realise his dream of holding the Open at his Turnberry golf resort.
And here’s the best part.
A source says Trump’s Scottish links will NEVER be considered as long as Trump remains owner.
“We have no plans to stage any of our championships (at Trump’s property) in the foreseeable future and will not return until we are convinced that the focus will be on the championship, the players and the course itself.”
Trump would “have to sell” the course “before anything changes,” said another source.
Not a good day for Donald Trump!
In 1969, Judy and Jerry Griffin crossed paths for the first time at the iconic Woodstock festival. Their encounter lasted only 48 hours, but it was enough time for them to form a deep connection. Surprisingly, over 50 years have passed since that fateful meeting, and the couple is still happily together. They now have two sons and five grandchildren.
Judy was on her way to Woodstock with two friends when their car suddenly broke down. Fortunately, a Volkswagen van pulled up beside them, carrying Jerry and three of his friends. They decided to travel together to the festival, setting the stage for their unexpected romance.
In a recent interview, Jerry expressed their remarkable journey by saying, "For 50 years we've been looking for a picture of ourselves, and out of the blue one shows up.. We'd known each other less than 48 hours when that was taken."
Judy added, "By the time we got out of the car and set up camp, we were into each other, and we basically were together from that point on."
Together, we can build a future where love knows no boundaries and where every individual, regardless of their background, can live authentically.
Happy Pride Month 🌈
I wish schools taught this.
Memorial Day began in 1865 when 10,000 former enslaved & a few white missionaries honored fallen Union soldiers.
It was founded in memory of those who gave their life to end white supremacy terror, slavery, & human trafficking

On the debt ceiling deal…both sides gonna claim they won. Both sides will have many that will hate it. It is a compromise. Has to be with House controlled by Rs. Ignore the noise, and realize that it is an OK deal, and it is essential to pass it ASAP to avoid serious pain.
