Many people from Bengal are going to South India—Chennai, Vellore, Bangalore—for treatment
A simple question—if everything is fine, why are patients still going outside??
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
There’s a powerful perception—
that treatment outside Bengal (Specially in Southern States) is simply better
Driven by trust in higher success rates and more advanced care
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
■ 𝐅𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬
A common perception has emerged—
that patients often face unnecessary tests, limited communication, and infrastructure gaps (most important) in some hospitals.
In contrast, care in South India is often seen as more patient-focused, with doctors spending more time
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
■ 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬
In critical cases—cancer, cardiac conditions (including heart), Tumors, neurological disorders, and serious eye problems—families are often unwilling to take risks
After initial consultation or primary care, many choose to continue treatment in South India
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Sometimes, even some Doctors and Medical Professionals here recommend ("বাইরে থেকে দেখিয়ে আসুন") seeking treatment outside the state for better care
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
■ 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
I’ve seen this pattern in my own circle as well
A close relative’s son had eye problems from an early age, with his vision slowly worsening over time. After initial treatment locally, his family sought care in Chennai in June, 2017 when he was nine. Since then, his condition has remained stable, which built a strong sense of trust.
More recently, another relative is undergoing cancer treatment in Mumbai, and a friend has received eye treatment in Bengaluru and is now back. I also know several people who travel to South India even for routine check-ups.
For many people from Bengal, this may not be surprising—similar experiences are quite common
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This isn’t about blame—
it’s about reality
And it’s a conversation we need to have
Because when it comes to health, no one can afford to ignore it or take risks with their own or their family’s well-being.
A significant section of people have lost their trust

❥ First, strong and reliable infrastructure is needed across the entire healthcare system—from government hospitals to private nursing homes
❥ People must feel confident that they are in the right place and will receive the best possible treatment.
❥ Better communication with patients and their families is essential. Clear explanations, transparency in diagnosis, and trust-building should be a priority.
❥ There must also be strict accountability—standard protocols, ethical practices, and monitoring systems should be enforced to prevent unnecessary procedures and ensure quality care
❥ Equally important is the availability of skilled specialists and modern equipment, not just in major cities but across districts, so patients don’t feel compelled to leave the state.
❥ Reducing waiting times and improving hospital management systems can significantly improve patient experience and confidence.
❥ Most importantly, healthcare must become more patient-centric—where empathy, time, and attention are valued as much as treatment itself
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The trust that has been lost will take time to rebuild, and it will require consistent effort, transparency, and long-term commitment

From strangers on Twitter to brothers on X—what a journey

Happy birthday @SarbarthS দা—keep achieving success
I sincerely thank the Directors’ Association of Eastern India for honouring my request within 72 hours of expressing my concern and withdrawing the case filed before the Competition Commission of India. This gesture brings me immense happiness, not just as an individual, but as a fellow member of our film fraternity.
Cinema thrives on collaboration, understanding and respect for each other’s craft. I truly believe that a peaceful coexistence within the industry is the need of the hour, where differences can be resolved through dialogue and mutual regard.
I hope this marks the beginning of a more inclusive and progressive environment for all of us. Let us move away from the culture of bans, except in the most extreme circumstances and instead work towards building a stronger, more united industry.
With gratitude and hope for a better tomorrow,
Dev.
@Adams1763956@Serial_comment@SarbarthS If that were true, the show count wouldn’t start at 284 or 362—it begins at 550+ for his films,Have some knowledge,On BookMyShow, his films consistently top bookings—if it weren’t real,it wouldn’t show there as “Trending”; he often increases shows after strong initial performance
"Such was the eagerness to see Superstar Dev that the crowd spiralled into utter chaos — a restless surge of fans, all jostling in a frantic rush for a glimpse of him"
@Serial_comment@SarbarthS With due respect, that claim doesn’t hold. Dev’s films have always delivered strong footfall and solid box office, often running houseful even at late hours. His popularity as a leading Bengali star remains undeniable, not something to be casually dismissed
BJP (274 candidates) & TMC (291 candidates) have revealed their 2026 lists. Around 23–24 BJP and 12–14 TMC nominees are non-Bengali
Ground fights will still be led by Bengalis—yet tickets go elsewhere
Representation or strategy? Bengal is watching 👀
Just a small thought:
2014: LPG ≈ ₹410
2026: LPG = ₹913
More than double
Now watch the “everything is fine” economists arrive…
while silently checking how much the next refill will cost. 🙂

The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 60. In Delhi, 14.2-Kg Domestic LPG Cylinder prices increased from Rs 853 to Rs 913. New rate will be effective from March 7: Sources
