@forsakenentity_ Totally agree here. Panel count isn't a great metric because you're ignoring the context in those panels. Just like how using page count as a metric or worse, chapter count as a metric is terrible and tell you very little. Glad we can agree there at least
@forsakenentity_ I'm sure you thought eps 12, 23-24, 39-40, 76, 78-79, 84 and 123 of HxH, all of which cover the length of a standard weekly chapter or less, were pretty well paced to you when you watched it. I think CA does have a bit of a bloated ep count, but it's still fairly well paced.
@forsakenentity_ Other anime can be a helpful metric, but the end all be all for pacing in OP is still OP. You can't compare the density of a chapter in OP compared to MHA, or JJK, or FF, etc. If your metric was panels covered and not chapters, it would be clearer but more difficult to talk ab
@forsakenentity_ OP chapters are far denser and with more panels per page than most other manga and has been that way since the timeskip. Hell, since Dressrosa he's been kinda rushing the story a little bit and leaving a lot of things deliberately for Toei to fill in (terrible decision imo).
@forsakenentity_ OP isn't other anime. OP is OP. If you want to discuss pacing in OP anime, please look at OP manga and not other manga.
On a side note the latest episode did cover a a bit over 1 chapter. Not to mention only in Reverie it covered as little as 0.5 chapters.
@forsakenentity_ It wouldn't be sustainable if the anime was long runner for decades. For an anime that airs one cour every 6 months it should be a bit easier.
@forsakenentity_ You don't need 1015 levels of effort. You just need a competent team that's capable of pacing episodes well. 1015 was the clearest example of my point but there are other well paced episodes lol
@HangedVoid Ep 1015 is regarded as the single best ep in OP and one of the best in anime history and it covered less than one chapter. Maybe pacing doesn't exclusively have to do with the amount of pages covered and you should actually look at the show to accurately tell if pacing is good.
@SoulfulAzrael Even at the slowest pace the anime has done (with stardust crusaders), the second stage would only take around 9 episodes. With usual JoJo anime pace it would take 6-7 episodes. It's more likely "2nd Stage" covers stage 2 and 3 than stage 2 stretched out to 11 eps somehow.
@DoomriderX@mikey_bellamy@ShonenSalto Same. The last chapter of that arc sets up and teases a lot of things that are to come so it makes for a much more complete ending than Akane crying because she lost in the selection event.
To my beloved fans,
It is with a heavy and broken heart that I write these words.
As many of you may already know, this decision comes from the newly updated feature on X.
For the time being, I will pause the publication of my comics and illustrations on X.
I want to be clear:
I do not fear AI.
In fact, I believe in its future and the possibilities it may bring.
However, I cannot accept my works being used, learned from, or exploited without my consent or proper compensation.
I care deeply about X.
Together with my Canadian friend—who helps translate my words into English and shares with me the voices and stories of fans from overseas—we have worked hard to build something meaningful here.
This place has given us precious experiences and memories.
Precisely because I like X, and because I believe it can become a good place for the future of manga, I have shared my most valuable works here.
For now, I will stop posting my comics and illustrations on X.
Instead, I will begin sharing my comics and illustrations on Instagram.
Please understand—this does not mean I am leaving X.
I will remain here, continue sharing news, and continue talking with you.
I simply will not posting my art works here for the time being.
Please enjoy my comics and illustrations on Instagram.
And I will wait—
for the day when I can once again share my works on X.
I sincerely hope that day will come.
Boichi
Robin Williams' daughter Zelda tells fans: “Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad.”
“If you’ve got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It’s dumb, it’s a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it’s NOT what he’d want. To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to ‘this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that’s enough’, just so other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You’re not making art, you’re making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else’s throat hoping they’ll give you a little thumbs up and like it. Gross.”
"And for the love of EVERY THING, stop calling it ‘the future,’ AI is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be re-consumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume."

All the japanese people discovering it in real time, see what they're taking away from the fandom ? But it's no big deal you can just block them right ? Leaking the most wanted project 4 days before ruining all the emotions it'd give to real fans who actually gaf about JJK
Fear of staff harassment leading to names related to OPM3 being officially hidden for this long is sadly proven the right choice by the pathetic reaction around the announcement. What's even worse is that this isn't a unique case, especially when it comes to this type of show

@ImNotACasual But it didn't say late winter, it only said late 2025. Like I said, "winter 2025" was the JP announcement and "late 2025" was the EN one.
We can theorize all we want on why they didn't go for the standard anime season format, but late 2025 never means March.
