So apparently, #TheIndiaStory is a torture fest despite a fantastic performance by #ShreyasTalpade.
It had all the potential to be a daring, path-breaking film, but it ended up being a weak, stretched, and lethargic watch.

A Delightful Mix of Comedy, Drama & Twists in the Right Direction....
The 70s era witnessed the rise of middle-of-the-road cinema, spearheaded by directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee. These films featured slice-of-life stories about common people, made on limited budgets with talented actors and a proper dose of entertainment. Over time, such films gained wider acceptance, and with the rise of the multiplex era, they came to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with mainstream big-budget entertainers. We saw ace actors, from Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Amol Palekar, and Farooq Sheikh to Abhay Deol, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, and many others, showcase their acting prowess while delivering some memorable and entertaining films.
Annu Kapoor is one such actor who returns with Uttar Da Puttar, a wholesome family entertainer that amuses while subtly making the audience reflect on the age-old debate between destiny and hard work. Blending comedy, drama, and emotions, the film revolves around a physics professor who firmly believes that every success and failure in life is governed not by science, but by Vastu Shastra and rituals.
The story is simple, relatable, and entertaining. It has shades of films like Khosla Ka Ghosla and a few others, where the common man outsmarts fraudsters. The main plot takes a little time to establish itself, but once it does, it keeps you engaged. There are several enjoyable moments, from Annu Kapoor's attempts to build his house to the sequence where he teaches Pawan Malhotra a lesson.
#AnnuKapoor shines in his role and does complete justice to his character. #RukhsarRehman is sweet and supportive in her part. #PawanMalhotra and #BrijendraKala are very good in their respective roles, while #RajendraSethi lends able support.
On the flip side, the side tracks dilute the film's flow, and movies of this genre require a tighter screenplay along with a stronger finale. However, overall, Uttar Da Puttar is a light, breezy, feel-good film with a decent dose of drama, humour, and twists.

NOLAN’S MOST COMMERCIAL WORK WITH LOADS OF SPECTACULAR LAYERS....
We have all loved and cherished #ChristopherNolan’s body of work. Over the last decade, almost every one of his films has become one of the most awaited releases, with its arrival being celebrated like a festival. His last film, #Oppenheimer, fetched him numerous awards along with phenomenal box-office success. Naturally, his fans were eagerly waiting for his next film, The Odyssey. Every small detail related to the film made headlines right from its announcement, followed by the casting, shooting, first look, teaser, trailer, and even its initial real and fake reactions. I was among the lucky few to watch the film almost a week before its Indian release, and trust me, the movie was totally worth the wait and every expectation attached to it.
This is Nolan’s most commercial work, but with his unmistakable master touch. What makes the film even more interesting is that Nolan makes you believe in this mythical tale, whereas earlier films based on similar subjects were mounted either as fantasy spectacles or grand epics. The Odyssey is filled with realism, drama, emotions, and relatability. The bonding between the characters makes you connect with them even more than the adventurous fantasy elements. The last 30 minutes are absolutely clap-worthy, highly engaging, and deeply emotional. However, the war sequences could have been grander.
Every actor has played their part with complete grace, but a special shout-out goes to #MattDamon, who is outstandingly brilliant in every scene. He shines throughout the film. #AnneHathaway looks stunning and performs her role with complete dignity. #TomHolland and #RobertPattinson are both very good in their respective parts, while #HimeshPatel is superb in his role. #Zendaya, however, is wasted.
The background score by Ludwig Göransson is on another level. It works like an additional screenplay, elevating every moment. The film has been shot for IMAX, and yes, every frame is absolutely worth experiencing on the biggest screen possible. The movie is almost three hours long, and despite its runtime, it leaves you wanting more.
Overall, The Odyssey is another Christopher Nolan masterpiece that will be loved and cherished by audiences and should end up as a major winner at the box office.

Courtroom dramas have been one of the most intriguing genres in Hindi cinema since the black-and-white era. Films such as Kanoon, Meri Jung, Damini, Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!, Aitraaz, and more recent ones like Pink, Jolly LLB, Section 375, Court, Mulk, and many others are among the most loved films of the genre. Among them, Damini still manages to leave an everlasting impact, thanks to Sunny Deol's fiery National Award-winning performance. His dialogues continue to be quoted in everyday conversations, making cinephiles even more excited to see him return as a lawyer in his latest film, Ikka.
The Sunny Deol we see in Ikka doesn't scream or fight like his character in #Damini, yet he shines through his commanding screen presence and the powerful emotional quotient attached to his character. The film takes its own sweet time to establish the plot, but once it does, the courtroom proceedings keep you glued to the screen. There are several power-packed moments, including Sunny requesting Akshaye Khanna for help, Akshaye's first testimony in court, Sunny dealing with witnesses, Sunny losing his temper in court, and his emotional confrontation with Dia Mirza, leading to a gripping finale that stands out as one of the film's biggest highlights.
On the flip side, Sunny and Dia's daughter track becomes a bit repetitive, and some of the courtroom proceedings feel overly filmy and slightly silly.
#SunnyDeol is immensely powerful in this different avatar. This time, he roars through his eyes and his emotional performance rather than his trademark aggression. His screen presence is commanding, and it's a refreshing treat for his fans to witness this different side of him. #AkshayeKhanna is effortlessly brilliant and delivers exactly what is expected of him. His performance will remind you of his style in #Dhurandhar. However, one does wish his character had more depth and substance. #DiaMirza lends strong emotional support, and her scene with Akshaye is particularly impactful. #TillotamaShome is dependable as always and performs her part with grace, though her character deserved stronger writing. #SanjeedaSheikh and #AkanshaRanjanKapoor are fine in their respective roles.
