I really can’t get out of my head what has happened to Charlie Kirk. I watched him a lot, not because I agreed with everything he said, but because he was an absolutely formidable commentator and could debate in a relentless, yet respectful way. Comparing Hazard to Salah is everything I hate about modern day n age football ⚽️

We used to understand football by watching football. Hence why there’s next to no debate that XAVI / Iniesta / Zidane naturally all exceed the Lampard and Gerrards of the their time.

Come 2024, stats merchants pull out G/A to debate ANYTHING. It’s lazy, it’s tiresome, and it does no justice to football.

Salah is a fantastic football player, and his consistent end product is arguably some of the best the PL has ever seen. A stone cold finisher, and a guy who can do almost nothing for 80% of the game, and all of a sudden pop up and WIN you the game in minutes.

Hazard is arguaby the best LW, and best dribler the Prem has ever seen.

He single-handedly carried a team for 6-7 years, while hoisting trophies doing so.

The two are not the same, the operate in different ways, and their football is hardly comparable.

I know who I “like “more, for the same reason I’m a Messi > Ronaldo guy. The RAW natural talent always excites me a little bit more than the incredible goal-getters.

Each to their own, but this whole G/A comparison mentality generation sucks!
