“…when you find people who start from a position where human beings are at the core, as opposed to a position where profit is at the core, the solutions can be very different.”
The First Ospreys (1st gen club) pres came up to compliment my outfit not realizing it’s me, and shared that she’s moving to Ireland for grad school and staying there. She told me I was the first person who told her it (grad school) is possible. Made me tear up on the spot. 🥹
Celebrating Black History Month with reflection, respect, and commitment to fostering equity and opportunity for all. We honor the remarkable contributions of Black individuals who have shaped our past, present, and future in Philadelphia and beyond.
Black history is American history.
This month, we take time to honor the incredible contributions Black Americans have made to our state and nation. Let us recommit to justice and equality for all.
Today marks the first day of Black History Month!
This February and beyond, we celebrate and honor the contributions Black people have made to this country and our great city.
I’m archiving newsletters and other comms before we migrate to a new system, and I was really writing division-wide newsletters every two weeks in 2021. I don’t think it made a bit of difference, but I’m proud of my efforts to improve communication.
I was on vacation in Jamaica at the beginning of the month, but it feels like a lifetime ago! I need this slow down. I can’t call it a break because I still have things to do during this time. I’ll take Thursday completely, though.
I just started chuckling as I recalled my staff member made a Lil’ Kim reference during a presentation today.
I’m really proud of my influence for him to feel comfortable doing so. 😂😂😂
This isn’t on Harris. Or Biden. Or not picking Shapiro. Or any other talking point.
It’s time we all come to terms with the fact that a majority of our neighbors want to be awful and Trump gives them that permission.
Woke up in the 5 o’clock hour just like 2016 and knew it was all bad. We are cooked. The Supreme Court is done for the remained of our lives. People do not care about people.
For those who wondered how American society allowed the sins of our past, realize that tonight Trump won the majority in spite of his lack of character and integrity. He demonstrated his racism, misogyny, xenophobia and tried to overthrow the government with an insurrection with any accountability or consequence. He is celebrated for his strategy of packing the court that will ultimately give him immunity and throw out his convictions. His indictments will disappear. This says everything about our society. We absolved this behavior by electing him. A celebration of criminality.
Last thought before attempting to go to bed: if Americans are willing to reelect Trump after everything he’s said in the past three months, there’s nothing Harris could’ve done.
