As a Penelope Bourbon fan , this is a fun one for me. I am thrilled to share that I have acquired one of their most limited releases:
Penelope + Serena & Lily
84 Proof | Non-Age Statement (NAS)
What a beautiful bottle. Can’t wait to write about the juice for you guys!
Cheers 🥃
🥃 Doctor’s Note 📝
@PursuitSpirits … Double Oaked
➡️ Private Select - Mass Beverage KC
The Nose:
Light vanilla , toffee , and toasted vibes. The ethanol is faint and the aroma shines , even without drops of water. This bourbon opened up quite fast.
The Palate:
The vanilla shines even more right up front , accompanied by some brown sugar. The oak is present , but thankfully was not drying or overly tannic.
The Finish:
Some toasted oak , and smooth/rounded spice - I picked up on some cinnamon , which was a pleasant surprise. It lingers , but doesn’t overstay its welcome.
All I have to say is… Wow. This was the first time I have tried Pursuit United and it most certainly will not be the last. I am very impressed. This was a great opportunity to support my favorite store and my favorite podcast. Cheers. 🥃
Kenny & Ryan - Congrats & Well done.
Happy Wednesday!
I have a fun week planned…
Thursday: A NEW bottle introduction
Friday: A “unique” Bottle Battle
Saturday: A NEW Old Fashioned recipe
In the meantime , I am enjoying some RR10.
What are you drinking tonight? 🥃👍
Going Dark.
Penelope Project X: PX Sherry Cask
112 Proof | 4-6 Years Old
After letting this bottle sit for a while , it has pleasantly opened up more than I thought it would.
Incredibly viscous mouthfeel.
Major cherry & dark chocolate notes.
Still some slight bitterness & baking spice during the finish.
Cheers 🥃
Happy Wednesday!
Tonight’s dram is a neck pour from yet another bottle of…
Redwood Empire: Pipe Dream
Man. For $30 , this bottle will always have a spot on my shelf.
What is your favorite Redwood Empire bottle?
I have seen all of the hype around the new (limited) Toasted Triple Finish - I have to get my hands on one!!
