JUCO isn’t automatic playing time!
No roster cap. Some teams carry 50+. Only 9 play. Odds aren’t great
Every roster has bounce-backs from 4-years. Older. Stronger. Already college tested.
Your “you’ll start” promise dies when one signs at your position.
Different rules.
Different schedule.
Different reality.
Sometimes harder to get real at-bats at JUCO than at a 4 year program 📋✅
Coaches promise playing time every recruiting cycle and everybody knows it, it is what it is. Acting like that’s some moral failing on the kid is cope. If the staff actually believed in competition they wouldn’t have to sell a lie to get him there in the first place. Not everyone does that obviously but they’re out there.
Recruiting isn’t about forcing doors open. It’s about walking faithfully until the right one swings wide. Stay ready. Stay rooted 🌱
Your recruiting process is still unfolding. Trust the process. Trust the AUTHOR ✍🏾
Speaking from personal experience most camps are a waste of time and money.⚠️
If there’s no real back-and-forth, they’re not interested in you.
They’re interested in your registration fee.
A copy-and-paste “thanks for attending” email is not recruiting. That’s an auto-reply.
Real interest looks like:
• they call you
• they follow you
• they answer your questions
• they actually talk to you more than once
If none of that is happening, stop showing up expecting to get “looked at.” You’re not being evaluated. 🤷
2027 / 2028 kids & parents:
No calls or contact all summer?
Then showing up to a fall
showcase or camp thinking “they’ll notice me” is wishful thinking.
100 kids fighting for maybe 2-3 spots. Stop rolling up uninvited.
Be the aggressor — send film early, follow the coaches, @ them, market yourself.
Same lazy approach = same empty results. Change now. ‼️‼️
Your X page is your baseball resume.
College coaches can tell who you are as a student-athlete in 15 seconds.
The better the resume the better the opportunities
Want more looks and better offers?
Treat it like a real resume: ‼️
• High-quality clips (with velo, exit velo, 60 time)
• Updated metrics and stats
• GPA and academics
• Proof of work ethic
Make it easy for them to say yes. ✅

Class of ’28: Biggest focus right now is building real connections + constantly updating your film & metrics. 👊🏼
Class of ’27: Biggest focus is
VOLUME. 📈
Cast a wide net with what you already have and see who actually likes you / shows interest.
No, it’s not too late.
Yes, you will lose opportunities if you don’t start increasing that volume today. ✅
Camps are valuable, but only if you treat them like a strategic
investment, not a weekend activity !!⚠️
Before you drop money and travel to any camp, verify these 5 things first: ‼️‼️
• Level Fit (Are you actually competitive against the athletes who will be there?
• School/Academic Fit (Do the programs running the camp match your GPA, test scores, and academic goals?)
• Financial Fit (Can your family realistically afford this school if an offer comes?)
• Position Want/Need (Is this a camp where coaches are looking for your exact position?)
• Skill Want/Need (Are the
coaches evaluating the specific skills you already have or need to develop?)
Showing up just to “get exposure” without checking these boxes is how kids waste time, money, and confidence.
Camps work when you’re intentional.
They fail when you’re just collecting shirts and posts.
Do the homework first. Then show up ready. ✅
DEAR COLLEGE FRESHMAN: You're now at the bottom of the totem pole.
What you did in high school DOES NOT MATTER anymore.
You have to earn it all over again.
You're headed into college baseball and it's no longer a game... It's a business.
22 year olds are built different.
Think different. Act different.
They don't care about your awards, rankings or state titles...
They are not there to be your friend.
They understand the window for their playing career is rapidly closing as each day passes, so they're not there to cheer you on just so you can take their job.
The college game is fast.
You will be shocked at just how fast things (and people) move and how quick you will need to be in order to make in-game decisions.
The players are bigger, stronger and faster.
They're adults now.
They aren't going to wait for you to catch up.
You will learn to truly understand the importance of:
⚾️ Sleep
⚾️ Nutrition
⚾️ Weight room
⚾️ Routine
⚾️ Time management
⚾️ Grit
⚾️ Being comfortable being uncomfortable
And the biggest one for most incoming freshman....
The realization that there are 2 types of players....
Those who are humble...
And ones those are about to be.
So as you head to campus to embark on the next chapter of your playing career and life, remember...
⚾️ Keep God 1st 🙏🏻
⚾️ Stay humble and hungry
⚾️ Enjoy the journey
Love,
KW

Recruiting made simple…
Email every coach in your state headcoach to graduate assistant at every division 3-4x until school ball starts
Follow all of them on X, dm them, and @ them in post
Verify your Twitter and initiate contact
It’s not hard it’s just a process ✅

College sports is all about fit and placement. ‼️
Don’t settle for your local JUCO or a coach who “knows some people.” That might not be the right fit for you, but you end up going anyway because it’s the only option you pursued.
There are thousands of coaches who would love to see your film. Send it out and find the program that actually fits. ✅✅✅
8% of kids go play college baseball
Thousands of kids with identical stats are chasing the SAME limited roster spots at the same schools.
No one’s coming to find you.
It takes relentless volume — 100s of targeted emails, DMs, calls, camps, and follow-ups.
Most kids won’t do the work.
That’s why so few actually make it. ✅
Being aggressive with film isn’t 10-20 emails a week or 5-10 twitters dms, 10-20 twitter follows or 1-2 phone calls
If you’re uncommitted it should be in the HUNDREDS a week.
100+ emails 100+ twitter followings and dms MULTIPLE calls.
Thats aggressive outreach ✅

With fall ball coming up and college players arriving on campus soon , it’s the biggest time for high school kids to make an impact.
This is YOUR window. 🔥
Coaches are ready to fill the remaining spots.
Don’t wait for them to find you… reach out, send the film, be aggressive, and make noise.
It’s your time. Go get it. ✅
