I adored my friend Dolly Parton for her massive heart. The world knew her extraordinary voice, her wit, her sparkle and her unmistakable presence. But I was blessed to see another side of Dolly—the woman behind the cameras, when there was no audience and nothing to gain except the chance to bring someone else a little hope.
We toured pediatric cancer facilities together, and I will never forget watching the children light up when Dolly walked into the room. She brought her bright light into some of the darkest moments a family can endure.
But she didn’t just visit. She stayed.
She patiently sat with children struggling with cancer. She listened to them, laughed with them, held their hands and somehow gave them a little more energy and courage to fight the battles ahead. That was Dolly. Her greatest gift wasn’t the music. It was her heart.
She was an angel on earth, and I know she is still an angel today.
Lisa and I had a blast at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C. These Indy-style cars are remarkable—but the drivers are even more impressive. These are serious athletes with the strength, stamina, and focus needed to control that much power at those speeds.
Congratulations to POTUS and Secretary Duffy for celebrating America’s 250th birthday the way a milestone this big deserves: big, bold, festive—and with plenty of horsepower.
America at 250 is still firing on all cylinders.
Oklahoma’s premier softball team, @OU_Softball, knows a thing or two about winning — and their key to success? Accountability and culture.
Watch as they give @RepBice and me a few valuable life lessons that apply well beyond the softball field.
Want to give your walnuts the cold plunge? Try soaking them in ice water. No, they don’t suddenly sprout tiny walnut trees in your kitchen. But something interesting DOES happen: The nut takes up water while some water-soluble compounds move out into the soaking water, changing its texture—and reducing its bitterness and astringency.
The result is a softer, fresh, clean crunch. A good rinse can also wash away some of what’s sitting on the surface—and many people find the result less bitter and more delicious.
And remember: the real nutritional superstar was there BEFORE the ice bath. Walnuts bring healthy unsaturated fats, plant-based omega-3 ALA, and other nutrients to the table.

Thanks to Mark Ein, I spent time at the DC Open with two incredible participants, Venus Williams and Frances Tiafoe, who remind us that greatness isn't just built on talent—it's built on the daily habits that keep your body and mind strong. Venus was a great guest on my former TV show where she opened up about her struggles with the autoimmune condition, sjogrens syndrome. She continues to amaze, competing against athletes nearly a generation younger and proving that smart training can keep you in the game. Frances values disciplined nutrition (eggs for breakfast and protein shakes after a match), and a commitment to staying limber. Champions are made one healthy decision at a time.
VP JD and Second Lady Usha Vance — we have all heard your passionate plea for more babies. Thanks for leading by example and bringing another beautiful life into the world.
Congrats on Alec's arrival. Lisa and I wish your growing family a lifetime of health and joy.
Thank you for all the good wishes as we settle into life as a family of six. 🩵
Meet Alec — and enjoy these attempts at taking a decent family photo with four kids!
Mark Twain understood a reality that outlasts every era’s noise: that laughter is the most honest form of truth-telling we have. Humor happens to have great health benefits as well - triggering release of feel-good endorphins, lowering stress hormones, and strengthening our bonds to others. Twain built a career out of puncturing pretension while keeping audiences laughing too hard to notice how sharp the point really was. Lisa and I enjoyed the Kennedy Center Awards built around his name, which will start streaming today on @netflix. My favorite of Twain’s many pearls of wisdom remains, “The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” Would love to know yours.
One of my favorite roles is Grandpa - and studies show that having grandparents involved with kids helps their development in many ways. https://t.co/xjSwW82G1t
My friend Senator Graham reportedly died from an aortic dissection, which I focused on as a heart surgeon. This catastrophic condition kills most victims within 48 hours and is best prevented by managing your blood pressure.
Sunday at the farmers market! Peaches picked at their peak offer vitamin C to support your immune system, fiber to keep your digestive system on track, and antioxidants to combat everyday oxidative stress. Here's the real secret: eating produce in season often means it's fresher, more flavorful, and packed with the nutrients. My favorite prescription? Slice a juicy peach over Greek yogurt, enjoy!
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸 We spent the evening witnessing the power of our Air Force directly over the National Mall, connecting with Ambassadors at the State Department as a dramatic lightning storm rolled through Washington, and celebrating the President’s remarks, culminating in a breathtaking fireworks display unlike any other. Let’s keep honoring our nation’s founders by strengthening the health of the people they envisioned governing themselves. https://t.co/UeJLW7yQwv
Fraud doesn't stand much of a chance when the pregame huddle looks like this. Great conversation with Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Speaker Mike Johnson before President Trump's opening address (punctuated with Air Force Flyovers) at the Great American State Fair in DC last night.
The greatest gift for fathers is the awesome memories created with our families, recalled vividly when we look upon your faces. I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day.
Great night in Philadelphia at my first World Cup match — packed stadium of 69,000 fans from around the world celebrating these incredible athletes! #fifaworldcup2026#fifaworldcup https://t.co/pfGiZH4lIi
Congrats to the latest Dr. Oz on finishing his internship at Columbia. This is the physician’s version of bootcamp—our most demanding year of training, where long, physically grueling days and enormous responsibility transform medical students into doctors. He’s come a long way since he first saw the Knicks — as has the team!
Against the backdrop of the White House, last night’s MMA event reflected the grit, determination, and fighting spirit that have defined America for nearly 250 years.
