Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann first met while studying music in Germany. In 1993, the Bergmann Duo won third prize in the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition and they are still going strong 🎶 https://t.co/Kf9rdfGpfg

This victory would not have been possible without YOU—our community—raising your voices and showing the power of collective advocacy. We should all be proud 🎉

While the fight for long-term, sustainable funding continues, today we celebrate this milestone.

After a 9-hour budget meeting, commissioners have passed all legislation for the upcoming fiscal year and we’re thrilled to share that funding for Arts & Culture programming has been nearly fully restored and the Department of Cultural Affairs will remain independent!

[Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion @Dranoff2Piano]

After Mayor Daniella Levine Cava proposed a 52% cut to all arts funding in her 2025/26 budget, she is now recommending to commissioners that we should receive a partial restoration. Our voices have taken us this far, but we must keep pushing for FULL restoration of funding.

Our advocacy is working, BUT WE’RE NOT DONE YET.

If you haven't already, sign the petition https://t.co/g25I12jS9R ! You can also email your commissioner and the mayor and let them know you support the arts in South Florida.
