UNKABOGABLE SINGER IS COMING BACK
Fans may soon have new songs to memorize as #ViceGanda revealed on Monday’s episode of “It’s Showtime” that a new album is in the works.
While no release date has been announced, the comedian-host shared that one track was written by Russu Laurente and members of P-pop boy group WRIVE.
The song is titled “Takong,” said Vice. “Pero ‘di mo pwedeng suotin,” joked co-host Vhong Navarro. Vice earlier shared she is currently recovering from a foot injury caused by frequently wearing high heels, with her doctor advising her to wear slippers until she fully heals.
In response, she quipped that she’ll make sure she’s already back in heels by the time the song is released. “Nakapag sapatos na ako kahapon,” she added.
The collaboration brings together two generations of Kapamilya artists. WRIVE, composed of Asi, Drei, Ishiro, Mathew, and Russu, is among the newest names in the P-pop scene under ABS-CBN’s Polaris-Star Magic banner.
The group has steadily built a following through its music and performances, with Russu also gaining recognition for his songwriting and producing work.
For Vice, the announcement marks a return to album-making more than a decade after the release of “Trending” in 2014, her last full studio album. Since then, the television host has continued dropping standalone singles, novelty hits, and soundtrack tracks, but a new album has remained absent from her discography.
With his upcoming album still under wraps, fans are already speculating which acts might join the Unkabogable Star in the studio. Who do you think could be the next P-pop artist to collaborate with Vice Ganda?
