Just by the way. 3 of those are live debuts. All of them are shredders.
Ripping with the iconic Spirit of Versailles and In Loving Memory, along with our friends in Catalyst and Holder in good old Pawtucket, and then recording this fucking album like 2 weeks later.
Thinking about the time waaaaay back when I used to be active on Tumblr when I chopped it up with Adam from @ladisputeband in the DMs about how bad Deathnote sucks. Pretty sure I recommended him Serial Experiments Lain iirc.
Anyway what’s out of the new album is great, guys.
One of my greatest hopes for the next album is at least one person only listens to the first track, uses zero critical thinking or engagement with it, and claims that it’s a christcore album. It would be so funny
I’m always so flattered when people at shows ask me how I achieve my vocal sound I wish I had a better answer than “I don’t know really, just overproject and abuse the hell out of my vocal chords”
We had one primary goal with writing the songs for the next album, one benchmark they had to meet: is it fun to play? Are we excited to play it? Are we eager to rip it on stage? That’s it. It’s still dark and moody and heavy, but we just wanted to have fun writing.
Headed back to Brooklyn for the first time in a couple years for Collective Effort Fest. We’re honored to be asked to play this. We will probably be playing a handful of new tracks to workshop them for recording.
@OfficialZao yall should stick around for day 2 and hang out :)
