Last night's breakdown in Canada-U.S. trade talks and the new tariffs now in effect are a stark reminder: few communities have more at stake than Windsor.
We must protect local jobs.
We must ensure Windsor's voice is heard.
That takes experienced leadership.
Windsor Strong. Together.

Today I announced that I’m running for a fourth and final term as Mayor of Windsor.
The work of the last 12 years has put Windsor in a position of strength. I’m asking for another mandate to finish the work now within reach, secure Windsor’s future, and continue giving this city everything I’ve got.
Affordability. Housing. Good paying jobs. The new hospital. Safer streets. Strong representation for Windsor.
These are serious times. Windsor needs serious, experienced leadership.
Windsor Strong. Together.

Twelve years. Big decisions. Real results. And more work ahead. I recently sat down with Lisa Williams, a trusted Windsor broadcaster for 38 years, for a candid conversation about Windsor’s progress, the difficult decisions that come with leadership, and what comes next for our city. It’s good to be Ottawa this week joining government colleagues from across the province for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario 2026 Conference. We’ll be discussing affordability, housing – including affordable housing, community safety and wellbeing, homelessness, services and supports for vulnerable residents, infrastructure and asset management, sustainability, energy and Ontario’s electricity sector, long term care, active living, A.I., emergency preparedness, and much more.
As I remain focused on Investing Responsibly and Protecting Windsor’s Future, these conversations with leaders and colleagues in Ontario help ensure that we are leveraging every opportunity and meeting every challenge as we continue supporting growth in Windsor.

I was proud to participate in the taping of the 24th Annual Hospice Face to Face Kick-Off. The program has raised a remarkable over $1.8 million over 23 years. For many years, the Fairley Family Transportation Program has supported rides to medical appointments for Hospice clients. In 2022, Hospice, in partnership with Essex-Windsor EMS, announced an innovative new G.E.N.I.E. Program, which the Face to Face Campaign also supports, offering opportunities for patients receiving Hospice care to request special trips or outings to help them attend family gatherings, visit with loved ones, and even visit local parks.
To donate to help support the campaign, and the meaningful work of Hospice in our community, visit https://t.co/IC5D8JB8Ch or https://t.co/Z5LigSjzWX now through September 30, 2026.
Thanks to the The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, John Fairley and the Fairley Family Transportation Program, Face To Face TV, and everyone who participates in this important giving initiative.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge has opened, creating a strong new connection between The City of Detroit Government and the City of Windsor, across the river that unites us. Meeting in the middle is about leaning into the commonalities and differences that make us stronger, better, and ready to build and protect our future – TOGETHER. It was meaningful to walk across this new span, to meet Detroit Mayor @MsMarySheffield in the middle, to shake hands, exchange keepsakes, engage in a little friendly rivalry, and commit to exploring the untapped potential that exists between the cities we are proud to represent. We’re just getting started…
“Those of us who believe in a strong U.S.-Canada relationship have a responsibility to double down and show people here that that’s [U.S. President Donald Trump] not the only voice. Our relationship is going to endure long beyond this president… Those ties took a long time to build, and they’re going to take a lot more than Donald Trump to break.”
It was meaningful for Gordon Orr – CEO of @_investwe and @TWEPI – to join together to welcome Democratic @SenatorSlotkin to Windsor City Hall yesterday. We discussed the long-lasting bond between our nations, the good work being done by many to sustain and strengthen the relationship, the ties of family, work and supply chains that have helped to build up our deeply integrated supply chain, and our hopes for the future of trade and other relations between our two countries.
I was happy to attend the 40th Annual St. Angela Merici Festival! Congratulations to everyone who helped make this milestone celebration such a success.
Thank you to the volunteers, organizers and parish community for your warm hospitality and for bringing people together to celebrate faith, friendship and community.
Windsor-Essex Pride Fest celebrations continued today with the annual Run for Rocky at Dieppe Gardens. The City of Windsor, through my Office, proudly supports this event with site racecourse set-up each year. Thanks to Windsor-Essex Pride Fest, Nancy and Rob Campana, and all the organizers, sponsors, volunteers and participants making this year’s run – and all Pride celebrations this week – part of another festival to remember!
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Civic Holiday! Whether you're spending the long weekend with family, exploring our community, or simply taking some well-deserved time to relax, I hope you have a great day. Enjoy!
The Emancipation Celebration Monument is truly special to behold. Together, we have created a fitting and inspiring tribute to a shared history that shaped our city, province, and country. I thank Council for approving funding to make this happen, Joi Hurst, Gale Carter, all members of the Committee, along with the designers, artists, and community members who worked in lockstep with the City to bring this beautiful vision to life in Jackson Park to honour Black history, the Underground Railroad, the fight for freedom, and so much more. Today was meaningful for the hundreds who gathered, and the space will continue to inspire generations to come. I was honoured to represent Council and the City of Windsor at last night’s 12thAnnual Festival for the Holy Family Chaldean Catholic Church. Thank you to the organizers, volunteers and attendees for ensuring another wonderful celebration of faith, family, community, and Chaldean heritage. In a world that can often feel divided, events like this strengthen Windsor as one of Canada’s most welcoming and multicultural communities, and remind us of the importance of unity, understanding and friendship.
TODAY IS THE DAY - RAIN OR SHINE!

It was an honour to participate in the kick-off of the 34th Annual Windsor-Essex PRIDE Festival, with the Pride flag raising ceremony at City Hall Square today. This remains one of the most important events on the local Pride calendar, reminding us that visibility matters, allies matter, rights matter, and progress is always worth protecting. I appreciated everyone standing together, hugging the person next to them, and sending out the message that Windsor is safe, inclusive, warm and welcoming, today and always. May we continue to learn together, inspire one another, and remain connected. Summer evenings don't get much better than this. What a wonderful night at Neighbourhood Nights at Mic Mac Park! Families gathered to enjoy a fantastic performance by Northern Muse, while kids played, neighbours reconnected, and everyone settled in to watch "Encanto." It was another evening filled with laughter, music, and the kind of simple moments that make summer so memorable. Thank you to everyone who participated in another great Experience Windsor event!
A reminder that City of Windsor administrative offices will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026, in observance of the Civic Holiday. Visit https://t.co/HLB6bH5cVW for more details.
