A perfect example of the bias against Tesla in news reporting.
In the very same headline, a “Tesla” runs off the road, but only a “truck” crashes.
Why the specific mention of the brand of only one of the cars involved in the accident @KOLO8?
The anti-Tesla narratives are getting more dangerous by the day. People were far too quick to dismiss the vehicle logs simply because they came from Tesla.
We now know investigators reached essentially the same conclusions after reviewing the evidence themselves.
Yes, pedal misapplication explains what physically happened, but that still leaves an important question:
What led to the driver overriding a vehicle that was already slowing for a stop sign?
What if the driver was frustrated with FSD being too cautious, overrode the system, and simply kept pressing the accelerator? Doesn't that sound more consistent with the evidence we have today?
According to the affidavit, the accelerator increased from 67% to 100%, the brakes were never applied, and there was no attempt to steer away from the house.
Ask yourself this question: if FSD were not a thing, and the driver had simply pressed the accelerator to the floor in any other vehicle, would this innocent woman still be dead?
The existence of FSD doesn't automatically make it the cause of every crash involving a Tesla.
A few weeks ago, the argument was that FSD may have behaved unexpectedly and caused a panic response, and that Tesla's interpretation of the vehicle logs shouldn't be taken at face value.
These new details come from investigators in a signed affidavit supporting a manslaughter charge.
They show the vehicle was already slowing for a stop sign when the driver progressively increased accelerator input from 67% to 100%, never applied the brakes, and never attempted to steer away from the house.
There's a lot more details in the affidavit that point to this being a deliberate attempt, rather than pedal misapplication or FSD failure.
Such an amazing color!
@Tesla_Calle and me saw the first @Tesla Model Y in the beautiful color Coastal Blue in Belgium now.🇧🇪
Simply stunning! It could perhaps be my favorite color on a Tesla..💙
Great that Tesla decided to add a new color in the collection.
I hope to see many of them driving through Europe soon.
