We are on a roll! Check out our new paper on PGE2โs role in neuron excitability! Shoutout to Pablo and collaborators for the great work. #ChemBio#Electrophysiology#Neurons@pdelvira
With my fellow Mississippian and student host Lawrence Berg ("looking like we're staring at a plate of fried catfish"). I'm so grateful to Stanford trainees for their hospitality and generous sharing of their visions of the future.
Through the proper channels - potently, reversibly block neuron spiking with UV and toxin. Our latest @CellChemBiol with @du_bois_lab and @MakinsonLab, led by inimitable @AnnaElleman.

Congratulations to Dr. Alyssa Clay on her fantastic thesis defense last week! She has been a model grad student and a tremendous resource for all of us working on total syntheses. We canโt wait to see what great things she accomplishes at UW Madison!
@StanfordUChem hosted @Merck for our annual Merck-SHC Symposium this past Friday, and the Du Bois Lab was out in full force. Thanks to @The_Ice_Berg for the great talk and to Steven and @zac_ngu for the wonderful posters! Shoutout to @TehshikYoon for the interesting seminar!
Congratulations to Dr. Paul Lauridsen on a great PhD defense this past Friday! Paul has been a great leader of the methods team in our lab, and his work on the inorganic synthesis and mechanistic analysis of ruthenium(II) precatalysts will be coming out soon! @NSFCCHF#PhDone
The Du Bois lab defended our @StanfordUChem kickball title this past week against a strong challenge from the Waymouth lab! Cheers to our MVP and soon to be PhD graduate Paul! #Undefeated

This week the Lab Spotlight is on first year Chris Codogni @ChrisCodogni! While not eating brunch or thinking of memes and the Grob fragmentation, Chris enjoys morning beverages like mimosas and OJ. In fact, he always dilutes his OJ with water to make it last longer #TeamSteroids
This weekโs lab spotlight is on first year Signe Dahlberg-Wright. Signe likes eating, growing, and researching plants. In her free time, she likes brewing beer and avoiding antique shops. Her favorite reaction is the Piloty-Robinson Pyrrole Synthesis (named after Gertrude!)
This weekโs lab spotlight is on third year Liz Park! While she isnโt leading #TeamSaxitoxin, she likes to produce high quality memes and make improvements to Stanford as co-chair of the GSC. We can all thank Liz for resurrecting the Stanford Shopping Express! @ElizabethRPark
This week's lab spotlight is on our senior undergrad Zac Nguyen (he/him) @zac_ngu! While not eating peanut butter like it's water, Zac enjoys cooking, playing violin, traveling, and the Robinson annulation. #LeftHandedchemist#TeamSteroids
This weekโs lab spotlight is on first year Enrique Moya (he/him). While not dreaming of semi-pinacol rearrangements, Enrique likes going on long hikes and swimming. You will probably find him sweating at the dinner table after adding way too much hot sauce. #TeamSteroids
This week's lab spotlight is on our visiting student Ella Chu (she/her) from @BowdoinCollege! Ella loves activities ON water (not in, see pic for evidence) like rafting, rowing crew, and canoeing! While not being obsessed with cracking her back, she is part of #TeamSteroids! ๐ช
With our new faces, our Lab Spotlights series is back! This week we are highlighting second year Dayne Goss. Dayne loves singing in Pod 3 and anything in history pre-1939. He thinks Jello is a top tier dessert and his favorite reaction is the Shibasaki epoxidation! #TeamSaxitoxin
Congratulations to our #Stanford2023 undergrad Kaile Maske on their graduation! Kaile was deservingly awarded distinction on their degree and the J. E. Wallace Sterling Award and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa! We are incredibly proud of Kaile and will miss them dearly. #ProudLab
Congratulations to the team of Paul, Anne, Chris, and Zac for winning the 2023 Du Bois Lab Spring Trivia Classic! The Mug of Champions finds a new home, and Paul goes out undefeated. Many thanks to Lawrence and Kaile for writing and moderating the set. #QuizBowl#LabFun
