There IS a very continuous US policy vs China of "containment" to say it in the usually euphemistic way.

I have friends who formerly worked in WTO & EU-DG Trade, their position: CN Business is mainly interested in EU-27 market access & they prefer a "flat" EU-27 uniform market.

Eastern Russian Federation ? A pseudo Russian space, hollowed out by CN influence.

Factories, JV, R&D in EU-27 ? Absolutely possible.

Only a question of playing our cards right.

Signing on to a "let's isolate CRINK" story pushed by the US-50 & some euro-conservatives would endanger that.

At the same time: As Rudd said, one should not underestimate CN/Xi.
