The Economic Affairs Division, under the guidance of Honourable Federal Minister Ahad Cheema, has achieved another milestone. The @GovtofPakistan and the @PakistanADB have signed USD 700 million Policy-Based Loan for Sub-Program 1 of the Insurance Transformation Program. @ADB_HQ
The meeting also discussed Azerbaijani investment interest in Pakistan’s key Sectors including energy, real estate and hospitality sectors, promotion of reciprocal tourism, and regular meetings of sector-specific Joint Working Groups.
A meeting was held between Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim Kidwai, Secretary EAD / Pakistan’s Acting Governor to the IsDB Board of Governors, and H.E. Samad Bashirali, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, during the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.
Secretary EAD appreciated Azerbaijan’s import duty relaxation for Pakistani rice and emphasized implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement and Transit Trade Agreement.

Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division (EAD) / Pakistan’s Acting Governor to the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Board of Governors, participated in the 51st Annual Meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors during the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.
Pakistan also welcomed the IsDB 5-Year Corporate Strategy 2026–2030 under the IsDB Group 10-Year Strategic Framework 2026–2035, particularly its emphasis on country engagement, regional integration, resource mobilization, operational effectiveness and One IsDB Group delivery.
ICD engagement was discussed through lines of finance, Islamic banking channels, SME and exporter finance, sukuk / capital-market instruments and bankable private-sector projects.
