The U.S. and World Monuments Fund are teaming up at Phnom Bakheng — the legendary “Sunset Temple”.

Built in the 9th Century, Phnom Bakheng was the centerpiece of one of the Khmer Empire’s earliest capitals at Angkor – and today it’s one of the best places to watch the sun set over Angkor Wat. 🌅

But over a 1,000 years of history takes some upkeep.

Since 2004, the United States has worked alongside Cambodian experts to preserve this extraordinary site.

A pretty spectacular piece of history and a partnership worth protecting.

It was an honor to meet with the #LA28 Olympic delegation at the Amsterdam @Olympisch Stadium, the very place where the Olympic flame made its first appearance at the 1928 Summer Games. Almost exactly 100 years later, that same flame will arrive in LA for the 2028 Games, a fitting symbol as we celebrate the American Decade of Sports.
