Iβm looking forward to speaking at #NSTASpring25 in Philadelphia!
This event brings together the brightest minds in science education to share ideas, resources, and inspiration.
Donβt miss your chance to join us! https://t.co/2QH8ZHeTxq
We still have partial scholarships available and will still accept applicants for this Fall! Let me know if you are interested! Share away! We love supporting educators!

Bonus - it's offered by some of our amazing RU @rutgerscmsce colleagues! @EDtheScienceGuy
Also- it is way easier when you have to deal with an issue after starting with a positive interaction. I have had parents come up to me as an admin to gush over how excited they were by that interaction. #teachered#edtech
@jel05008@RutgersAltRoute a5- I encouraged my teachers to call all the parents the first Quarter of the year for a positive reason, even better if you do it before back to school night (especially if you are new and nervous). The parents will already like you by back to school night #edtech#teachered

@TaitLiza @RutgersAltRoute a5- Now put all of all that data from surveys into AI tool and ask it to look for patterns and trends, then summarize. Save yourself a lot of time analyzing the data! #TeacherEd#EdTech
A5 These are all super helpful @msashleyshanley I also love class dojo to stay connected easily from a parent and student perspective #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A5: Tools like @canva for newsletters, @classdojo & @googleforedu collaboration features allow me to engage with students & families in real time. These are easy ways to share announcements, classroom updates, photos, & links to helpful resources #TeacherEd#EdTech
@sMarch1871@RutgersAltRoute Yes reliability is still an issue between internet, apps, tools, student usage, website changes since you planned your lesson- always having back up plans and back up plans for your back up plans! #EdTech#TeacherEd
@Noviceteacher24@RutgersAltRoute Yes, my research includes using videos. We found 90 secs was the longest before middle schoolers got distracted or began to lose interest, engagement, motivation. Most videos are way longer than that. Breaking them up or using parts across various lessons works #EdTech#TeacherEd
@jel05008@RutgersAltRoute Yes, I feel having kids in a class to talk to each other & have that discourse is where real learning happens. We now have AI for gathering info but kids collaboratively making sense of that information and expanded upon it with further wonderings is how to use #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4- AI generated student work that students barely modified is an issue. Teaching kids how to use AI to support their research and exploration to generate their own knowledge and investigative questions is the goal. #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4- AI will alter education, how it is used for good and bad is something educators will deal with for a long time. Work that took days takes minutes. Differentiating a lesson with https://t.co/cVTPJPPEMq for reading level is awesome. #EdTech#TeacherEd
@TaitLiza @RutgersAltRoute Library Science folks should also have good tech knowledge if you want to reach out and include them #EdTech out! #TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3: Joining professional organizations in your sphere will support your pedagogy and tech, like for science the NJ Sci Teach Association does monthly PLCs across the state virtually where everything is open discussion, often including tech #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute I have found personally reaching out to people and saying, "I am impressed by what you do...can you help or teach me?" works really well in the teacher world #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute@MsAshleyShanley@mskb26@techcoachjuarez Find out who runs the tech, who has the power to approve apps & tools. Asking the building admin for time to observe colleagues who are 'good' using tech will give a baseline for the building expectations for what 'good' is. It will also get you a mentor! #EdTech#TeacherEd
