Will you be our new colleague? π
VACANCY in electrochemistry and chemical engineering!
Are you enthusiastic about research in electrochemical membrane processes? We have a very exciting PhD project available:
https://t.co/nX7zK25pfS
Application deadline: September 25th
Will you be our new colleague? :)
David, Max and Pavel visited the membrane company Fumatech. Great discussions about bipolar membranes, and their potential to be applied in CO2 capture and electrolysis and redox flow batteries. Exciting to see their expansion to larger production capacity!
Itβs a GO for Ai-Yu!
She got her PhD plan approved and will continue working on seawater electrolysis. Congratulation Ai-Yu β we are excited to see you turn seawater into an ocean of hydrogen opportunities π
David participated in a workshop of SPIN-NL, on how to intensify #CO2electrolysis. The inspiring meeting included a great tour at TNO's lab showing the 10 kW CO2 electrolysis pilot Zeus β‘ !
Thanks to the organizers - SPIN-NL, TNO, VoltaChem, Michele Tedesco and Mark Sassenburg!
Polymeric ion exchange membranes are cool and all, but did you ever hear about nanofluidic membranes (NFMs) as an alternative? π§
Check out this recent paper by Kostadin Petrov published in the Journal of Membrane Science!

Congrats to all authors! π
Check out our new paper on oxygen reduction using alternative electrode types for higher current densities! π«§

Congratulations to the authors for this paper!
Our latest paper in Nature Energy shows how bipolar membranes (BPMs) could be the key to stable and scalable CO2 electrolysis! β‘

Time to introduce our newest member, Pavel! As a PostDoc he will be working on acid-base flow batteries with @AquaBattery and on CO2 electrolysis scale-up.
He not only experiments in the lab, but also enjoys exploring modern visual art, film history and experimental music πΆ
In addition, the concepts of the technology for CO2 capture, from air or water, are explained in detail in the Tech Talk of David Vermaas, as part of TU Delftβs Tech for Impact campaign. You can now watch this Tech Talk (NL) - https://t.co/fa1kbqfXyS
Yesterday, the @Klimaatraad published their advice to the Dutch government for removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Dr. Rose (rezvan) Sharifian and our spin-off company @SeaO2_io was interviewed by RTL News yesterday to demonstrate the CO2 capture from seawater.
Donβt miss Davidβs TechTalk tomorrow at 16:00. He will discuss the present and future of electrochemical CO2 capture, highlighting work from members of our lab and @SeaO2_io . This talk will surely capture your attention!
Register to see the broadcast:

Tomorrow Kosta will defend his PhD thesis βAddressing CO2 electrolysis challenges with novel ion-exchange membranesβ. The best of luck from all of usπ!
That same day, David Aili will give a colloquium on electrode separators for alkaline water electrolyzers.
Donβt miss either!
The #TechforImpact campaign highlights researchers working on technologies for a better society and this year David is featured with his research about the removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. More information and a way for you to be part of the impact:

We greatly enjoyed the Electrochemical Conversion National Symposium with its many inspiring talks, electrifying discussions and great company!
And we are very proud that one of our own won the 3rd place poster price β Congratulations VojtΔch!
Ai-Yu attended the World Hydrogen Summit 2024 in Rotterdam. She enjoyed the conversations with industrial partners and learned a lot about the world of #hydrogen. It was the ideal place to get inspired for her project on green hydrogen production via seawater #electrolysis π
Yesterday we hosted @AntoniForner 's EMS group from @TUeindhoven. We got to know about each others projects, exchanged know-how and toured the labs. We really enjoyed connecting with the group and hope this ππ₯πβππππ has πβπππππ our minds and π ππππππ ideas β‘
Flow battery researchers will come together at the #Flow4UBattery event π, organized by @AntoniForner and others at @TUeindhoven. Join David's talk today at 11:40 on the acid-base flow battery work from the #RELEASE project.

Many congratulations to Nathalie! In her latest paper in @RSC_Energy, Nathalie tackles mass transfer limitations in #CO2 electrolysis from a new angle: by bringing the catalyst to the CO2, instead of relying on CO2 transport to the catalyst. Read it here:
