EPCH organised an awareness seminar on India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement at its Common Facility Centre (CFC), Saharanpur.
A detailed presentation on the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) highlighted that the agreement eliminates import tariffs on 99% of Indian exports to the UK, including major handicraft and textile products. The session covered key benefits for the handicrafts sector, including tariff elimination, MSME and artisan upliftment, strengthened export hubs, enhanced competitiveness, simplified compliance, protection of domestic industries, and significant growth opportunities for labor intensive sectors such as textiles, leather, gems and jewellery, toys, engineering goods, marine products, and organic chemicals. The interactive session concluded with discussions and queries from participants.

EPCH recently participated in a meeting on the implementation of the pilot project, *“OITIJJO – Grameen Heritage Emporium,”* organized by *NABARD, Assam Regional Office, Guwahati*. The project aims to create dedicated marketing infrastructure and provide enhanced market access opportunities for artisans and craft-based enterprises in Assam.
To guide and oversee the implementation of the project and ensure sustainable market linkages and livelihood enhancement for participating artisans, a *Project Monitoring and Review Committee (PMRC)* has been constituted. EPCH is a member of the PMRC along with *NABARD, State Bank of India (SBI), Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Centre for Entrepreneurship Education (CEE), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), NABARD Assam Regional Office, and AVA Creations Social Impact Foundation, which serves as the Member Secretary and Key Implementing Agency.*

Tulasi Rao, Member, CoA, EPCH and Convener, ILTC, Narsapur, at an Awareness Workshop on the MSME Team Initiative Programme focusing on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) for lace artisans, organized by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Vijayawada Branch, at the Sri Alluri Satyanarayanaraju Cultural Center, Narsapur.
The workshop also saw the presence of Shri T. Rahul Kumar Reddy, IAS, Joint Collector, West Godavari District; Shri V. Suresh Babu, Zonal General Manager, NSIC, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana; Smt. Aparna Lakshmi, Assistant Director, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Vijayawada; and Shri Veerabhadra Rao, Regional Head, Union Bank of India.
Shri Tulasi Rao highlighted EPCH's initiatives to promote handicrafts exports through trade fairs, buyer seller meets, market development activities, and skill enhancement programmes. He urged NSIC and MSME authorities to organize more awareness and capacity building programmes in association with EPCH, noting that such collaborations would improve market access, enhance competitiveness, and support the sustainable growth of the handicrafts sector in the region.
