Lots for schools to digest on Ofsted in past 36 hours so a not so quick thread of what we know. It all kicked off with the DfE announcing yesterday that overall single word judgements for schools are going with immediate effect. https://t.co/yRW3OZeahe
@VetsNowUK Sorry to hear I’m unhappy? No need to apologise for my feelings, perhaps you could start by apologising for your poor service and lack of comms regarding my complaint. It’s ironic that your solution to an unresolved email complaint by your company is that I should… email
learning, wellbeing, enrichment, relationships, academic success etc. Schools will always help with uniform and provide options to families who need support discreetly. Should dentists not wear gloves? Should builders not wear hats? Time to work WITH schools. Enough shoe drama!
I’m pleased they spend time sharing their policy, for clarity and fairness. Those told at short notice likely haven’t read the policy. Uniform serves fairness - a way to ensure nobody can raise their status above another, because what we really care about is a student’s (cont)
It appears that British schools are spending a lot of time controlling exactly which black shoes teenagers are allowed to wear, and their parents are frustrated about it. This is effectively control of their parents, since they are buying the shoes and many are told at short notice that the shoes they have bought are not acceptable.
I've now been sent several school shoe policies with multiple pictures of slightly different black shoes, some of which are acceptable and some of which are not. Parents tell me that they are threatened with isolation or the child being sent home if their shoes are wrong.
Can anyone explain to me how this helps children learn and how it supports struggling families to get their children into school?
Thanks @clarksshoes Lincoln, we had fun buying our first shoes and wellies today. Everyone needs a pair of yellow wellies in their life!
Almost time to go back to work, but my gosh we’ve had such a special year! ❤️
I am really looking forward to the next few months of Christmas celebrations and getting stuck back into my job… but first, a quick holiday! We made it to Malaysia! ✈️ #SupportingDaddy#JuniorWorldCup#RisingStars

Pleased to share an audiobook version of Part 1. ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2023).
Reading a 44-page document isn’t easy; It takes over 2hrs to record; how long does it take staff to read it properly?
