We're the union representing public elementary teachers in Peel. We defend quality public education & provide members with quality professional services. #ETFO
UPDATE & ACTION: PDSB senior leadership tried to force cuts to front-line student supports quietly, w/o trustee or union consultation. Ed workers organized & forced some reversals. Cuts are still happening, & pressure *must* continue. #ETFO#OntEd#OnLab#FundTheFrontlines 1/2
Today we reflect on our shared responsibility to protect the lands, waters, and ecosystems that sustain us. Small, consistent actions toward sustainability and climate justice make a real difference. A healthier planet is a collective effort. #ETFO#onted#onlab
At Queen's Park today, @ETFOpresident joined @PolicingFreeSch and community members to send the government a united message. Fund our schools, not policing in schools!
Ford has already spent millions on police-in-schools programs, which do nothing to address students' real needs! What students in #onted need are resources, special education supports and smaller class sizes. #onpoli

NEW: Ontario’s education unions are officially serving notice to bargain today.
Among their demands:
• smaller class sizes (capped at 24 students for grades 4-8, and 26 for kindergarten)
• ending mandatory e-learning for high school students
• spec ed investments
“In the coming weeks & months, we will undertake a comprehensive search & recruitment process to identify & appoint the best possible candidate to serve as the next *CEO* of @PeelSchools.”
Yes…a *CEO*. Of a publicly funded Ontario school board. A *CEO*.

This month we honour the histories, languages, and enduring contributions of FNMI Peoples. It’s a time to reflect on truth, challenge colonial harms, and center Indigenous voices. When we listen, learn, and act, we help build a future rooted in respect and justice. #ETFO#onted
Pride is a reminder that everyone deserves to learn, work, and live in spaces where they feel safe, affirmed, and free to be who they are. We challenge discrimination, uplift queer and trans voices, and aspire to build communities rooted in respect, inclusion, and love. #ETFO
We honour injured workers and call for fair treatment, safe workplaces, and systems that support, not abandon, people hurt on the job. Standing in solidarity means tuning into lived experiences, challenging stigma, and advocating for accessible, just supports for all workers.
#ETFO MEDIA STATEMENT: Pride & Solidarity – ETFO celebrates #PrideMonth
“Every person deserves to feel valued, respected, & supported for who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.”

Nat'l Access Ability week reminds us to remove barriers and challenge ableism. This means listening to lived experiences, valuing diverse ways of learning and communicating, and designing environments where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered. #ETFO#onted#onlab
This is a crucial Bill for the health and safety of all #onted students and workers! Currently, there is no maximum temperature regulation in our schools, and action is needed. We urge all MPPs to support this @ontarioNDP Bill. Do the right thing and make it law. #onpoli
#ETFO MEDIA STATEMENT: Education funding falls well below inflation, failing students
This govt continues to ignore…calls [for adequate, stable, inflation‑protected funding], choosing instead to mask real‑dollar cuts with political spin.

#ETFO MEDIA RELEASE: ETFO responds to auditor’s report on special education
@ETFOPresident: “This report is another damning indictment of a govt that has abandoned its responsibility to Ontario’s most vulnerable learners.”

NEW: The Ford government tried to quietly close the public feedback period on its new education bill, changing the deadline to submit comments from May 13 to May 4 without notice. They reversed course after we asked why they were limiting public input:
