Morocco is a close and long-standing partner of the EU. We will continue working together on migration management and towards a deepened 🇪🇺-🇲🇦 Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.

I held a conference call with Commissioners @magnusbrunner and @dubravkasuica for an update on the situation in Ceuta.

The good news is that the vast majority of those who arrived illegally have returned to Morocco, due to the effective work of Spanish and Moroccan law enforcement. Not a single person reached mainland Spain or the rest of the EU.

This shows why the control of our European borders matters. We have a strong system in place. But it needs to be further strengthened.

We must remain vigilant at every critical entry point and maintain close coordination between all authorities.

At the same time, we need a lessons learned process to improve our European resilience.

The Commission has offered support to Spain from the first moment.

I received letters from several leaders and I welcome the call for an extraordinary videoconference to take stock of what has happened.

Fighting illegal migration requires solidarity and a united European response.

Had a phone call with 🇪🇸 @jmalbares to express EU solidarity and support to Spain. The situation in Ceuta is unacceptable.

Fighting migrant smuggling and trafficking requires close cooperation with our partners. I welcome the swift operational response and cooperation between Spain and Morocco on readmissions.

The majority of migrants who arrived in Ceuta have already returned to Morocco.

I welcome the agreement reached overnight on the disarmament of Hamas. This is a crucial step under the Gaza Peace Plan and can help open a new chapter for Gaza.

I thank everyone who worked tirelessly to make this possible: 🇺🇸 @realDonaldTrump, @nmladenov, as well as the mediators 🇪🇬 🇶🇦 🇹🇷.

Lasting peace, security and stability cannot be built on arms. They must be built on diplomacy, dialogue, trust and a shared commitment to a better future.

The 🇪🇺 is already doing its part.
Just a few weeks ago we convened the Team Gaza Initiative that gathered nearly 900 million Eur for early recovery in Gaza.

We also have a €1.6 billion support package for the Palestinian Authority, to reform and strengthen it.

We look forward to working with our international partners on next steps in bringing stability to the region.

In Lebanon, in partnership with @UNDP, we are strengthening the Internal Security Forces @LebISF by improving infrastructure, enhancing operational capacity, and fostering stronger ties with local communities.

So far:
• Rehabilitation works have started at 3 police stations;
• 17 vehicles have been delivered, with 80 more currently undergoing maintenance;
• 750 food rations have been provided to support the ISF's presence in south Lebanon.

The European Union remains the largest supporter of the Palestinian people. As we deliver our €1.6 billion support package, today we once again reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening and better coordinating international support.

Through our secure financial mechanism #PEGASE, in 2026-2027, the EU has committed €310 million to support the Palestine Authority. Since the first meeting of the #PalestineDonorGroup, our 🇪🇺 partners [🇪🇸 🇩🇰 🇨🇾 🇮🇪 🇬🇷 🇵🇹 🇮🇹 🇳🇱 🇫🇷 🇨🇭 🇧🇪] have mobilised an additional €41.7 million.

Despite extraordinary political and financial pressures, the Palestinian Authority has continued to advance its reform agenda, strengthening governance, transparency and public financial management.

Bahrain is a key partner for the European Union.

Today, together with @kajakallas and H.E. Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, we launched the negotiations for the 🇪🇺-🇧🇭 Strategic Partnership Agreement, opening a important new chapter in our relations.

Our partnership will deepen our cooperation, strengthen economic ties, boost resilience and innovation, and deliver shared prosperity for our people.

Very sad news of the passing of His Highness the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Than.

My condolences go to his family and the people of Qatar.

His vision and leadership helped shape modern Qatar.

And it paved the way to the strong partnership that the EU and Qatar value so much.
