Steven Chan's blog post tells about the recent publication on future changes in MCS properties across Europe based on two convection-permitting model results.
However, whether this comes with lots of small storms, or a few large storms is different in different models. We need to keep this in mind when planning responses to storm impacts such as flooding or landslips.

Europe is set to see an increase in rainfall from intense, clustered storms in the future as a result of #ClimateChange, says new EUCP research. ⛈️

A new study by @metoffice scientist Dr @SegoleneBerthou shows that future winter storms are likely to bring more heavy localised rain - closer to the high rain rates we're experiencing in current autumn storms, with potential for more winter flooding 🌧️

New @EUCP_H2020 multi-model study by @SegoleneBerthou shows future winter storms are likely to bring more heavy localised rain in their warm sector: similar to these orange/red/purple rain rates happening in current autumn storms.

🌧️🌧️ How will precipitation extremes change with continuing climate change? 🌧️🌧️ In our study just out in @CommsEarth we show that the most extreme events will see the strongest amplification. 📈
