-Snapchat
-Facebook
-Threads
Streaming platforms such as Twitch and Kick would also be restricted, while 16 and 17-year-olds would face social media curfews on approved apps.

🇮🇪 A Dublin takeaway has been ordered to pay more than €30,000 in compensation after the Workplace Relations Commission ruled it discriminated against Moroccan Muslim employee Hajar Aqqa by refusing to allow her to wear a hijab and dismissing her.
The WRC found the company had provided no “legitimate reason” for banning the headscarf and awarded compensation for religious, racial and gender discrimination, as well as breaches of employment law.

🇮🇹 Italian businesswoman Cinzia Dal Pino has been sentenced to 18 years under house arrest after running over a Moroccan mugger who had stolen her handbag in Viareggio in 2024.
CCTV footage showed Dal Pino repeatedly striking 52-year-old Noureddine “Said” Mezgui with her Mercedes SUV before retrieving her bag and driving away.
Prosecutors argued the killing amounted to “excessive revenge.”

🇩🇪 A 23-year-old Lebanese care worker accused of strangling a 91-year-old woman with her own clothing in a nursing home in Chemnitz has been deemed not criminally responsible due to schizophrenia.
Instead of a standard criminal trial, prosecutors are seeking his placement in a psychiatric hospital.
A closed-door hearing at Chemnitz Regional Court is scheduled to begin on June 18.

🏴 Ilia Belov, 22, a Roma from Bulgaria who calls himself the “Gypsy Gangster,” has been found guilty of assaulting a 12-year-old girl and making sexual remarks to children in Dundee last year.
Belov denied the charges and claimed the girls had called him a “f****** migrant”, but the sheriff rejected his account as “wholly unconvincing and self-serving”.
The girl was initially portrayed as the aggressor after footage emerged showing her holding an axe and knife.

🇬🇧 An asylum seeker from Pakistan has been found guilty of raping an 18-year-old girl in Nottingham.
Sheraz Malik raped the teenager, who was described as "particularly vulnerable" in a park on the evening of Sunday 29 June 2025. He repeatedly called her a "slut" during the attack.
The trial had heard Malik is an asylum seeker, who was born in Pakistan and lived in France, Germany and Italy before coming to the UK.

The Global Peace Index 2026 has ranked Iceland as the world’s safest country for the 18th consecutive year.
New Zealand and Switzerland rounded out the top three, while Russia, Sudan, DR Congo, Ukraine and Israel were among the least peaceful nations.
The UK fell from 34th to 39th place.
