Good exchange with 🇮🇸 Icelandic Minister of Health Alma Möller.
It is clear there are ample opportunities for cooperation on the safe and secure supply of medicines, digitalisation of health systems and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
@EUinICELAND
International Sanctions on Russia What is the cost for Russian economy?
Russia's oil & gas revenues dropped 24% in 2025.
Q1 2026 oil revenues: -45%
Prices rising by 87% between 2021 and 2024.
New pressure, new sanctions, new reality for Russia's war economy.
Full solidarity and support to Romania following the crash of a Russian drone on a residential building in Galați, injuring civilians.
Russia’s escalation on EU territory is reckless and irresponsible. I condemn in the strongest terms this violation of Romania’s national airspace and of international law.
The EU is united in stepping up pressure on Russia through sanctions and strengthening defence capabilities, in particular along our Eastern border.
Russia has been portraying the EU and Ukraine’s leadership as “warmongers” unwilling to end the war. This is, of course, an outright lie.
In reality, it is the Kremlin that has rejected at least seven peace proposals in 2025 alone.
I’m in Vilnius to send a clear message:
Europe stands in full solidarity and unity with Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
And we are stepping up our support.
Because when Baltic States are being tested, Europe as a whole is being tested.
Russia hit a dead-end on the battlefield, so it terrorizes Ukraine with deliberate strikes on city centres.
These are abhorrent acts of terror meant to kill as many civilians as possible.
Moscow reportedly using Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles – systems designed to carry nuclear warheads – is a political scare-tactic and reckless nuclear-brinkmanship.
Next week, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss how to dial up the international pressure on Russia.
Putin’s war now lasts longer
than USSR’s “Great Patriotic War”
Russia has lost
over 1.2 million soldiers killed wounded or missing
14,004 tanks and armoured vehicles
361 aircraft
29 naval vessels
Russian economy is under severe strain and continues to shrink.
An estimated 20,000 Ukrainian children have been unlawfully deported or forcibly transferred to Russia.
This is criminal and wrong.
We are co-hosting the High-Level Meeting for the Return of Ukrainian Children. Alongside Ukraine, Canada, and EU countries, our goals are clear ↓
Rights and values do not defend themselves. In the skies, at sea, online. The EU is out there every day, far from the headlines but close to the people who need it most.
Happy Europe Day. 🇪🇺
In uncertain times, you find out what truly matters.
Freedom. Peace. A place to call home. The EU has delivered on that promise for over 75 years.
Not perfect. But reliable. And that is the whole point.
Happy Europe Day. 🇪🇺 @kajakallas
It's Europe Day!
Today, we celebrate all that Europe stands for.
And we celebrate all of us, the citizens of Europe.
Because all together, we are Europe.
Happy Europe Day!
AMOC depends partly on dense water sinking in the North Atlantic. Warming seas and freshwater from melting ice can weaken that process.
@CopernicusEU’s latest report shows record ocean temperatures and marine heatwaves, and why ocean monitoring matters: https://t.co/CxZmlQXDr3
For Orthodox Easter, Russia proposed a ceasefire. Only to intensify its brutal attacks on Ukraine - almost 8,000 violations of the ceasefire they proposed.
Now, a ceasefire proposed only to guarantee a pause for their Red Square celebrations.
Today’s air strikes on Ukraine once again show Russia is not serious when it talks of ceasefire or peace.
The only way to stop human suffering and allow space for meaningful peace talks is to stop the killing immediately and agree a long-term ceasefire.
A free press is essential to democracy. Across the world, journalists are threatened, forced into exile, detained or killed for doing their job, as we have seen in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and in conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.
Disinformation and intimidation continue to undermine independent journalism and the public’s right to know.
The EU will continue to defend press freedom at home and around the world.

Russia was supposed to capture Kyiv in 3 days. Four years later, they are advancing at a snail’s pace.
"Three Days That Never Came" is a mini-documentary about Ukrainian resistance & courage against Russian aggression. It also shows how Ukraine adapted in the information space.
Deadlock over. The EU just cleared the way for the €90-billion-loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package.
Russia’s war economy is under growing strain, while Ukraine is getting a major boost.
We will provide Ukraine what it needs to hold its ground, until Putin understands his war leads nowhere.
Daily U-turns, whether the Strait of Hormuz is open or closed, are reckless. Transit through the Strait must remain free of charge.
The EU has reached the political agreement to widen our sanctions regime to also target those responsible for breaches to freedom of navigation.
None of us want to see a nuclear-armed Iran. We are in agreement with our regional partners that any durable settlement must address also other issues in addition to the nuclear one, including Iran's missile programme and its continued support to terrorist groups.
My press remarks following today's Foreign Affairs Council ↓
