This week we were pleased to run our gene editing workshop, Cows, Coughs and CRISPR, for students from 18 different countries on the University of Edinburgh Centre for Open Learning Pre-University Summer School.
Maybe we'll see some of them back working at Roslin one day!
The Roslin on the Road: Aquaculture team has just returned from a fantastic week in Shetland.
We ran sessions for pupils from S3 to AH in Brae HS and Anderson HS, meeting a total of 123 wonderfully interested and skillful pupils along the way. Can't wait to come back next year!
It was a pleasure to welcome @LoanheadPS pupils back to EBSOC today for a Farm Detectives workshop.
Pupils used microscope skills from their last workshop to identify the bacteria making our cows sick before designing their own experiments to investigate bacteria in EBSOC.
Last week we were delighted to run our Dolly, DNA and Me workshop for a group from @TeensPlusScot (Liberton). There were some impressive lab skills on show and wonderful banter! 😀🧬🔬

What a great way to spend your Easter break from school!
Learning new skills, making new friends and revising PCR and mutations at the same time.
The EBSOC team enjoyed last week working with fantastic Higher pupils from across Scotland at LabCamp.
Who wants to live forever?
Roslin immunologist Professor Neil Mabbot joined Jacques Fleuriot, Gillian Mead, Colin Angus, Daria Ihnatenko, Dr Emily Adrion, and a sold-out audience for a fascinating and entertaining discussion of aspects of healthy ageing.
What a lovely start to the week!
We spent the day visiting @marinestation and @StAbbsVisitor learning about the research being carried out at the station and the connections with UoE. Great discussion of crabs, mussels, marine stations and, of course, public engagement!🦀🦞
