๐ Eclipse Apoapsis has graduated to mature status!
Managing open source dependencies across multiple applications and repositories requires scalable approaches to software composition analysis and compliance.
Eclipse Apoapsis addresses these needs through reusable process blueprints and ORT Server, a reference implementation based on the OSS Review Toolkit.
ORT Server provides a REST API, access management, a web frontend, centralised software inventory management, and Kubernetes integration.
These capabilities support teams working on vulnerability monitoring, compliance analysis, and SBOM generation.
Having completed its Graduation Review in September 2026, Eclipse Apoapsis has reached an important milestone in its development as an open source project.
Congratulations to the project team and contributors!

๐ Eclipse Common Security Infrastructure (CSI) has graduated to mature status!
CSI plays an important role in supporting the security and release engineering work of Eclipse Foundation projects.
The project brings together open source technologies and practices that help secure software supply chains and establish consistent security approaches across the community.
Among its tools is Otterdog, which provides declarative configuration management for GitHub repositories.
CSI also currently declares compliance with SLSA Build Level 3, reflecting its focus on build and software supply chain security.
Graduation recognises the project's operational maturity and its role in providing dependable, long-term infrastructure for the Eclipse Foundation community.
Congratulations to the CSI team and contributors!

๐ Helping the open source ecosystem prepare for the Cyber Resilience Act requires more than one tool or one piece of guidance.
The OCCTET toolkit provides practical services for readiness assessment, software dependency analysis, vulnerability management, SBOMs, VEX, and compliance documentation.
It complements work taking place through the Open Regulatory Compliance Working Group, where the community is developing specifications, guidance, training, and other resources to support #CRA implementation.
These efforts are focused on making compliance knowledge and tooling more accessible to the organisations and open source communities that need them.

AI agents can write code, run tests and submit pull requests. But does that give them the authority to make decisions in an open source project?
In a new article for Techstrong Council, @t_mashologu explores what happens when AI agents begin participating in open source communities and why governance needs to become understandable to both humans and machines.
The key distinction: an agent's ability to act does not give it the authority to decide. Community governance must still determine what agents can do, when human approval is required and who remains accountable.
