Imagine how many more drunk drivers would’ve been caught in the 60s if sobriety tests back then weren’t just glorified vibe checks…
On the newest episode of SNAFU, my buddy @peteholmes and I hone our Boston accents as we discuss the tragic Chappaquiddick incident. Link in bio. #snafu #peteholmes

Got some huge news for my friends across the pond - the UK paperback edition of my book, “SNAFU: The Definitive Guide to History’s Greatest Screw-Ups” is out NOW.
This book’s got decades’ worth of shocking, hilarious and epic blunders, distilled into something you can read on the Tube while pretending not to make eye contact with anyone. That’s what literature is for, right!?

Calling all California voters! This Tuesday, June 2, is Election Day, and I'm voting for my friend @MichaelDTubbs for Lieutenant Governor.
When I was 26, I was trying to tell jokes in comedy clubs. Meanwhile, Michael Tubbs was getting elected Mayor of Stockton, the youngest person ever to lead a major American city. But he didn’t stop there. He launched a guaranteed income program, created universal scholarships for Stockton students, brought homicide rates down 40%, and even flipped the city from bankruptcy to fiscal health.
So yeah, he's a badass. And California could really use one of those right about now.
Get to the polls on Tuesday and vote @MichaelDTubbs for Lieutenant Governor. He’s done the homework, so let’s get him the job.
Casey Newton (@CaseyNewton) out here casually EXPOSING Kevin Roose (@kevinroose). This is why Snafu is the most salacious podcast in America!
Check out part 2 of my breakdown of the Cambridge Analytica data harvesting scandal on SNAFU with brilliant journalists Kevin and Casey of NYT’s Hard Fork podcast, out now at link in bio #snafu #hardfork

If Mark Zuckerberg said he could do a surprise interview with you but you only had 20 minutes to prepare, would you skip lunch? Or would you still make room for dessert?
This week on SNAFU, I’m joined by tech reporting icons @CaseyNewton and @kevinroose of the NYTimes Hard Fork podcast to discuss one of the biggest data harvesting scandals in internet history: Cambridge Analytica! Link in bio 👍 #snafu #hardfork

There is no such thing as “too much fiddle.” That’s just science.
In the latest @TheBGSituation post, the brilliant Rachel Baiman (songwriter, fiddler, and all-around excellent human) points us toward ten absolute ringer fiddlers (a few of whom you’ve probably already heard without realizing it!).
From the West Coast to the Carolinas, these are the folks absolutely tearing it up while all we can do is just listen with a slack-jawed stare.
Dive into the full list, videos, and stories over at BGS - hit the link below and prepare to become a better, more fiddle-aware person. 🎻

You hear that, folks? Only the best and most unique Labubus for Bowen Yang!
Join me and Bowen this week on Snafu, where we go back to the 17th century to discuss the very first economic bubble in history, when the Dutch went mad for… tulips. Check it out at the link below #bowenyang #snafu

This is my formal petition to add “Galifianakish,” used to describe all things reminiscent of my good pal Zach Galifianakis, to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary 😂
This week, @radiolab founder and my fellow @oberlincollege alum @JadAbumrad joins me on SNAFU, where we discuss the doomed Polaris expedition of 1871 and the mysterious murder of its captain, Charles Francis Hall (who is quite Galifianakish). Out now at the link in bio #jadabumrad #snafu

Calling all history buffs! I recently had the honor of being interviewed for the CNN Original Series, STANDOFF: THE FBI, POWER AND PARANOIA, where I returned to the riveting story of the Citizens’ Commission to Investigate the FBI that I covered in SNAFU season 2.
The four episode series will focus on the fragile relationship between FBI Directors and the Presidents they serve, from the mid-20th century to the present day.
Check out the clip to see a snippet of my interview, then head over to CNN tonight at 9 pm ET/PT to watch the first two episodes. The final two will air next Sunday (3/29) at the same time. Episodes will also be available every Monday following release on https://t.co/Vjuvr2xViZ, and then on HBO Max 30 days afterwards. #cnn #fbi #snafu
Lucinda Williams is the artist of the month over at @TheBGSituation, and I can’t think of a musician more deserving of the spotlight. Seriously - her raw, poetic songwriting has bridged folk, country, blues, and rock for decades, and few songwriters have shaped the sound of Americana quite like her. She’s also a three-time GRAMMY winner, no biggie 😂
Check out this clip of Williams singing her song, “The World’s Gone Wrong” on @colbertlateshow, joined by Brittney Spencer (@BrittNicx), then head on over to the link below to see BGS interview Williams about her new album.

Should Rory Scovel and I start a podcast where we just compliment each other for an hour? Is there an audience for that!?
Not sure, but on this episode of Snafu, we dive deep into the story of Ivan Boesky, the infamous Wall Street crook who inspired Gordon Gekko. Check it out now at link in bio! #roryscovel #snafu

I’m truly blown away by this live performance of the protest song “Heavy Foot” by Mon Rovîa (@mon_rovia_boy) in Denver. You gotta check this guy out - a quickly rising folk artist, Mon Rovîa blends Appalachian folk and storytelling in a way that’s entirely his own. Head over to the link below to see his latest interview with @TheBGSituation, where they talk about how his music helps him process a life shaped by displacement, resilience, and a lifelong search for belonging, then watch the full performance of “Heavy Foot” on his YouTube channel.
