THINK THIS THRU! ๐ง
You compare "different/contrasting" subjects this wayโฌ๏ธ
cars and trucks
birds and bees
apples and oranges
sin and blasphemy
You don't sayโฌ๏ธ
cars and cars
apples and apples
sin and sin
My point is summed up in these bullet pointsโฌ๏ธ
@Truth02559307 Well... I think I'd have an easier time explaining Einstein to a small neck clam than reaching you with Scripture.
Hopefully some day you will hear and believe the Gospel.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 The Scriptures are clear. Every believer has 2 natures. To say otherwise, is contrary to Scripture.
And yes, Paul clearly declares that he battles with his sinful flesh, and ends up doing what he doesn't want to do. Sin.
Why does he say, "Wretched man that I am...
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 It's the flesh (sinful nature) I still battle with... just as the Apostle Paul did. See Romans 7.
If you never sin anymore... you must be better at choosing than the Apostle Paul.
And that... is an impossibility.
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 Indeed, the believer IS separated from the power of sin... which means:
Sin need no longer "reign" in the life of the believer. We now have the choice not to sin by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is "sanctification". The more we yield to the HS, the less we sin.

Very well stated!
God bless you, Billy!๐
@Truth02559307 As I've told you before, just about all sin is willful (including when you continue to be disrespectful). Everyone sins in thought, word, and deed. A parital obedeince is insufficient when the standard is perfection.
The Bible shows that salvation is not "sinning less" or "doing good works" b/c the standard is perfection, never once sinning....Thus we have all failed Bible says the wages of sin is death (which ain't good). And we have all sinned and all fall short of the glory of GOD (Romans 3:23 KJV). However, the gift of GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
That is why everyone needs to put their faith soley in Jesus Christ for eternal life and the forgiveness of sins. It's a free gift not a reward for "good behaviour."
Good works are great and something everyone should do after salvation but not what one must do to get saved remain saved or prove one is saved. Big difference.
Nobody is defending sin. Nobody is telling others to abuse the grace of GOD. Nobody is saying not to do good works. But no matter how obedient or disobedient a saved child of GOD is, they are still a brother or sister in Christ, a child of GOD (Eph 1:13-14, John 10:28, 1 John 5:11-13, Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 Corinthians 1:18).
And some of the verses you listed in your many comments are not even about eternal salvation like in Ezekiel 36, which is addressed to the nation of Israel as a whole. That verse is about Israel in the future Messianic Kingdom. It is part of a national promise made to Israel when God restores them to their land under the New Covenant during the Millennial Kingdom. Not about salvation, and not about automatic works. And cause is not force, it's enabling and empowering but a person can choose to obey or not. And if Ezekiel 36 meant automatic obedience, then:
- No Christian would ever sin (1 John 1:8)
- No Christian would ever grieve the Spirit (Eph 4:30)
- No Christian would ever walk carnally (1 Cor 3:1โ3)
- No Christian would ever need chastisement (Heb 12:6)
And you continue to mix salvation vs service/discipleship verses, what one must do to be saved vs what an already saved believer should do now that they are saved.
And I will not be going back and forth with you sir while you continue to be disrespectful to me and many others online here and while you bombard many of us with comment after comment and insult after insult. It's poor form on your part.
@osasisHERESY I'm pretty sure I know the point you're attempting to make with this verse.
Are you suggesting that this passage means that Israel will not be saved?
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 Sorry. Not among those who have basic comprehension skills.
I've already explained the difference. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Read my next few responses to you.
You might be surprised ๐ฎ
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 ...with doing good. Christians are called TO DO the works God has ordained for the Christian.
Spoiler alert โ ๏ธ ๐ข
It ain't done by adherence to the Law. The Law is good ๐, but it doesn't save.
Oh, and btw... I'm not advocating sin. I'm advocating walking in the Spirit ๐ถโโ๏ธ
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 Having settled that... let's talk about the "core" admonition of this epistle.
It is to grow to maturity in Christ, not to retreat back to your comfort zone, or to trust again the former ways/methodologies that don't save/justify you before God.
Look, nothing wrong ...
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 There you go. Thanks John, for making my point. The screenshot you used clearly shows that I said the epistle to the Hebrews was "addressed TO", not written FOR the Hebrews... which would limit the application of the lessons within this epistle ONLY to Jewish believers. Good job!
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 Your being "trapped" is not my doing. ๐
All you have to do is produce just 1 screenshot showing that I said Hebrews was written FOR Hebrews.
Go ahead. I'll wait.
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 John, you have a MASSIVE comprehension problem. DUDE!
I didn't say Hebrews was written FOR the Jews... I said the epistle was "addressed to Jewish believers" and that IT APPLIES TO ME TOO as a believer.
DUDE! GET A GRIP ON REALITY!
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 ... is not to retreat back to their former, familiar, comfortable methods of approaching God through the Law (written and oral), nor through the Temple sacrificial system. Rather, they must "go on to maturity in Christ". How? Here's the clincher... "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH!"
@Dr_JohnFFisher@Truth02559307 ... of it's existence. These Jewish believers are my brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, what is being taught to them, applies to me as well. Why? Because I too, am saved by grace through faith, just as they were. The point and thrust of this epistle to the Hebrews...
