The collapse of the US Iran ceasefire in July has set off a chain reaction across the region. Iraq is emerging as the next critical flashpoint.
Our latest report tracks how this escalation is playing out: renewed US Iran strikes, Saudi Arabia's unprecedented direct entry into the conflict, Houthi attacks on Saudi shipping, and a wave of Iran backed militia activity across Iraq.
At the heart of it is Prime Minister Al-Zaidi's government, caught between a $60B+ US investment package and a September 30 deadline to disarm entrenched Iran backed militias, many of whom are handing over old weapons while quietly retaining their real arsenals.
Our analysis covers:
→ What triggered the breakdown of the US Iran MoU and the resumption of strikes
→ Saudi Arabia's shift from regional rival to active participant in the conflict
→ The scope of Iraq's "Dawn Sweep" anti corruption campaign and who it's really targeting
→ Whether Al-Zaidi's disarmament efforts have substance, or are largely symbolic
→ Why Iraq, not Iran, may become the epicenter of the next phase of this conflict
This is essential reading for anyone tracking Middle East risk, energy markets, or regional investment strategy.

New EdgeTheory report: Is the AI bubble narrative backed by evidence — or by amplification?
Using Narrative Intelligence (NARINT), our team analyzed the reporting, social media, and cross-network amplification shaping today's AI bubble discourse.
Key findings:
The AI sector does show legitimate financial risk signals — elevated valuations, rising debt, circular financing, and uneven enterprise adoption, as flagged by institutions like the Bank for International Settlements.
However, many of the most extreme "AI collapse" narratives extend well beyond what the underlying evidence supports.
The most aggressive bearish amplification traces back to Chinese state media, Chinese hedge funds, and Russian-aligned commentators — frequently relying on dot-com bubble comparisons rather than new data — while simultaneously promoting China's AI ecosystem as a more stable alternative.
This is more than a market story. It's a geopolitical one. These narratives are actively shaping investor confidence, capital allocation, and global perceptions of U.S. technological leadership.

Meta's Emerging Trust Crisis: How Narrative Convergence Fuels Public Distrust
Why do some organizations struggle to rebuild trust—even after addressing the original issue?
Because stakeholders rarely evaluate events in isolation.
They connect individual stories into broader narratives that shape how every future decision is interpreted.
Our newest Narrative Intelligence report explores how five narrative ecosystems surrounding Meta converge into one enduring challenge of institutional trust.

Foreign intelligence services used to need a recruited source to influence a decision-maker.
Now they just need a narrative.
A recent House Intelligence Committee hearing put it plainly: adversaries are running coordinated campaigns that reach entire city councils and legislatures at once — not just individual officials.
🔹 A fabricated post nearly killed a Florida counterintelligence bill, racking up ~9,000 shares before the sponsor could correct the record
🔹 Coordinated opposition to AI data centers seeded across TikTok and Facebook
🔹 Fusion centers juggling 7+ disconnected systems just to track it all
The hard part isn't seeing the activity — it's telling a foreign-directed campaign apart from genuine public concern.

Iraq's Militias and the Narrative War Over Disarmament
This EdgeTheory report examines the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding the US and Iran agreed to on 17 June, broadly favorable to Iran, and the future of Iraq's Iran-backed militias taking shape amid US scrutiny of government formation. It covers Iran's emerging "hybrid strategy" of integrating some militias into state security institutions while hardline factions like Kata'ib Hezbollah refuse to disarm, US Presidential Envoy Tom Barrack's conditions for supporting the Al-Zaidi government, and growing pressure to dismantle militias' financial networks ahead of Al-Zaidi's July meeting with President Trump.
Using EdgeRunner, an AI powered source discovery agent, the assessment combines Narrative Intelligence (NARINT), Emotional Profile Classification, and network analysis to reveal how governments, corporations, activists, and alternative media shape public perceptions of AI infrastructure.

Cognitive warfare isn't coming for AI infrastructure. It's already here.
Our new EdgeTheory report on the data center build-out found that fear, not policy debate, dominates the conversation - and the loudest narratives push cancellation, not regulation. Chinese state media wants the build-out to happen, just not here. Local grievances are amplified by Russian-aligned and fringe networks, turning zoning fights into anti-institution campaigns.
Here's what gets missed: narrative intelligence isn't just attribution - who's behind it. The real value is answering two questions at once: who's shaping a decision environment, and which decision is actually being targeted. A zoning vote. A rate case. An election. A boardroom call - each can be shaped before decision-makers sit down.
That makes this a boardroom and public affairs problem, not just a national security one. Operators, utilities, developers, and capital markets funding the build-out all need to know not just who's talking, but which of their decisions the talking is aimed at.

This EdgeTheory report examines how narratives surrounding Spirit Airlines spread across consumer communities, financial discussions, industry reporting, and social media ecosystems. More importantly, it explores how these independent conversations increasingly reinforced one another, contributing to broader concerns about transparency, reliability, and long-term viability.
What began as a narrative centered on affordable air travel and consumer choice gradually evolved into a much different story shaped by customer frustrations, media amplification, financial uncertainty, and converging stakeholder perceptions.
The report highlights how emotional activation, narrative convergence, and trust erosion can reshape perceptions of an organization long before traditional business metrics fully reflect the impact.

Memorial Day is not for institutions or industries.
It belongs to those who did not come home - and to the families who carry their absence.
The work EdgeTheory does in the contested information environment, alongside operators and analysts across the Defense and Intelligence communities, exists because of what they paid for the security the rest of us inherit.
The mission they began continues on the watches of those who serve today.
We remember them.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming embedded into business, finance, communications, education, and public life. As AI capability accelerates, another battle is emerging beneath the surface: Trust.
EdgeTheory’s latest Narrative Intelligence report examines how lawsuits, safety concerns, commercialization pressures, governance disputes, emotional dependency narratives, and competitive market dynamics are increasingly converging around OpenAI and the broader frontier AI ecosystem.
What makes this important is not any single controversy.
It’s the convergence of narratives across media, financial markets, policy discussions, developer communities, and public discourse that increasingly shapes perception, legitimacy, and institutional trust.
As AI systems become more deeply integrated into society, legitimacy itself may become one of the defining strategic dependencies of the AI era.
