This week is World Breastfeeding Week 2024. The theme is Closing the Gap: Support for All 💜 Progress in Scotland has been made but inequalities still exist. Those who want to continue breastfeeding do not feel supported enough. Scotland = a right to breastfeed a child <2 yrs of age in a public place 👶🏻🤱🏻 Helpful resources @parentclubscotland @NHS_Lothian

The @Food_Foundation latest #FoodInsecurity Tracker shows that 7.2 million adults experienced food insecurity in June 2024:
🏠 Households with more children are more likely to be food insecure.
🍝 food must be made more #affordable
🧒🏻End the 2-child benefit cap
📈 Nearly 10 million adults and children are struggling to afford basic essentials such as food, according to our latest #FoodInsecurity Tracker.
And households with children in the poorest 5th of the population would have to spend 70% of their disposable income to afford a healthy diet.

Stages of delicious food:
1. Chop up food 👩🏻🍳
2. Taste food 😋
3. Thumbs up! 👍🏻
It is important that children are exposed to different foods and given the opportunity to chop, explore, taste and play with food. These exposures can influence a lifelong #positive relationship with food and cooking.
