All results verified have been released as of 10:45 p.m. Validation will resume in the morning of October 22, 2025 and unofficial results will be available as soon as the process is complete.
A preliminary recount has been called for the Edmonton City Council Ward sipiwiyiniwak. Recount will take place on October 22, 2025 at 2 p.m., at a location in the west end of Edmonton to be confirmed in the morning. Official results will be released by noon on October 24, 2025.
Multiple factors impacted our procedures for both voting and the counting of ballots, including a labour shortage, power outages and technology issues. We know it is taking longer than initially anticipated, but we are working to ensure the confidence and integrity of the vote.
2025 Edmonton Election Status.
As of last night, approximately 60 per cent of all ballots cast were counted. We are currently in the process of checking and releasing the remaining half of last night’s count.
At the count centre, workers are counting the remaining uncounted ballots from voting stations, special ballots and institutional ballots.
We aim to release preliminary results today.

Ballot boxes will be opened until midnight. Ballot counting ends at 1 a.m. and resume at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Preliminary results are expected later in the day.

St. Timothy Catholic Elementary School in Ward Anirniq is closed due to a power outage.
Voters assigned to St. Timothy's can cast their ballots at Caernarvon School, 14820 118 St NW.
