What a great week we had @EducationFL hosting the five finalists for Florida Teacher of the Year!
It was an honor to celebrate these outstanding educators and the impact they have on the lives of Florida’s students every day.
Congratulations to each of our finalists!
I enjoyed speaking with Florida’s district superintendents at the Florida Association of District School Superintendents conference this morning.
Throughout my tenure as Commissioner, two priorities guided our work: student safety and student achievement. Thanks to the leadership of @GovRonDeSantis, the dedication of parents and the high-quality instruction by teachers across our state, Florida continues to lead the nation in education.
I’m also grateful to @PublicSchoolSup for your partnership and commitment to keeping students at the center of every decision.
Taking time to understand others’ thoughts, feelings and actions can change the way we support one another.

Thank you to Florida’s dedicated literacy leaders for investing in their professional growth and helping every student build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Today, I joined leaders at @PHSCedu to celebrate a $3 million investment through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund that will create new aviation training opportunities for students to become Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics.
Thanks to @GovRonDeSantis’ leadership, Florida continues to lead the nation in workforce education, connecting students with the skills employers need and preparing them for success in the workforce of tomorrow.

This week we kick off the 2026 Summer Literacy Institute.
Over the next two days, 1,100 VPK–Grade 5 teachers will expand evidence-based practices, strengthen instructional knowledge and gain valuable resources to support student success in reading.
I enjoyed providing the keynote address at the FCS Summer Councils meeting of academic, workforce, and student affairs leaders from the Great 28 @FLCollegeSystem institutions.
By working together to ensure our students have the skills needed for high-wage, in-demand careers, Florida will continue to lead the nation in workforce education.
It’s been an incredible honor serving in your administration, @GovRonDeSantis, over the past 7 years.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to championing policies that have helped millions of families across the state of Florida!
I’m looking forward to this next chapter as the President of @PolkState and am grateful for the trust and support of the Board of Trustees, the faculty, the community and most importantly, the students.
Together we will strengthen Polk State’s legacy of excellence and ensure the college remains responsive to the workforce demands of Polk’s rapidly growing community.
