Ekiden has been built on @CantonNetwork brick by brick, alongside an ecosystem that is still defining what institutional onchain markets can look like.

As the first CLOB-based derivatives exchange on the network, we have been early across much of that path: building exchange infrastructure around Canton identities, connecting professional market makers, operating our own validator, developing trading and settlement flows, and creating tooling around the exchange as the ecosystem itself expands.

There was no established blueprint for a large order book exchange on Canton when we started. The architecture and integrations we are putting in place now are part of the foundation that future trading applications on the network will be able to build from.

We came to Canton early because we believe institutional markets will increasingly move onchain. Ekiden is being built to provide the trading layer for that market.

Mainnet access will open gradually. The first users entering through a limited number of whitelist allocations.

If you receive an access code, activate it within 24 hours and complete the required deposit to secure your spot. Additional access waves will follow as we expand Mainnet participation.

Ekiden uses a Central Limit Order Book because derivatives markets depend heavily on how liquidity is quoted and how orders are executed.

In a CLOB, bids and asks are organized by price, orders can be placed at precise levels, and execution follows transparent matching rules. Market makers can continuously quote both sides of a market, while algorithmic traders can interact with the same structure they already use across professional trading venues.

This becomes especially relevant as order sizes grow. Traders need to see available liquidity across price levels, understand expected slippage and control the price at which an order is allowed to execute.

Ekiden combines this market structure with settlement on Canton. The result is an exchange architecture designed around professional execution while using Canton as the underlying financial network.

A common question after the Testnet is what happens to XP accumulated across different versions of Ekiden.

We took snapshots throughout the Testnet, including before and after major infrastructure and wallet updates. Historical activity remains recorded, including activity from accounts that later received new Ekiden Party IDs.

The final leaderboard will be calculated using activity from the full Testnet period rather than a single final snapshot.

XP already has its first confirmed Mainnet utility: it will be used to determine the initial whitelist, with the first access wave including the final Top 100 Testnet participants. Additional whitelist waves and further XP utility will be introduced separately.

If your current interface does not reflect an earlier balance or position correctly, that does not mean the historical activity disappeared from our records.

Ekiden Testnet period has concluded.

Over the course of the Testnet, thousands of traders generated the activity we needed to test the exchange under conditions that internal testing cannot reproduce.

The data from this period has already been used to identify bugs, improve execution and market data, test the platform under load and validate integrations with market makers.

Thank you to everyone who traded, reported issues and stayed active through the different versions of the Testnet. The activity has been recorded throughout the entire period and will continue to matter as we move into Mainnet.

A meaningful part of Ekiden is designed for participants who will never place an order manually through the interface.

Market makers and algorithmic traders need reliable access to market data, order management and account state, so we have been spending a lot of time on the integration layer around the exchange.

Our API documentation covers the core trading flows, while WebSockets provide live market updates through a persistent connection rather than requiring applications to repeatedly poll for changes. This is particularly important for order books, trading algorithms, dashboards and other systems that need to react to market events as they happen.

We have also been validating these integrations directly with market makers and updating the documentation as the infrastructure evolves.
