Year 1 have loved their day in Saltburn today! We have been enquiring eagles, finding lots of interesting shells and rocks. We have also been building sandcastles and paddling in the sea!

Year 1 had a visit from some birds of prey last week!

We have been reading 'The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark' and got to meet a real-life barn owl, as well as a peregrine falcon and burrowing owl.

Year 1 have been sculpting shells this week for our Under the Sea topic.

They carefully studied some real shells and then moulded clay to imitate the features they had seen.

We look forward to them being dry enough to paint next!

@Katy_primary97 We don’t! We’re lucky to have quite a bit of space so we have a few tables of 6 across our rooms for group work etc but it’s mostly all set up in ‘areas’ of CP ☺️. There’s been a lot of trial and error for our first full year of it, but it’s worked really well for us!

Alfie and Ava even treated Mrs Sharples and read her a chapter!
