I think I can attest to what Otedola talked about here.
Forte Oil (the successor to Zenon) was paying well in the early 2010s and was the hot cake in the downstream industry, poaching people from other companies.
At least 7 employees dumped Oando for Forte Oil at the time, including my friend and old flat mate, who went on to lead their lube business up to Ardova.
In fact, when I resigned from Oando in April 2012, colleagues thought I was going to Forte Oil because virtually everyone that resigned at the time ran to Forte Oil.
He really used money to attract staff of other downstream companies at the time.
People in downstream in those years should remember this.
I know the perfect ways to propose to my future wife, I'm just waiting for the right time. 😊
Imagine serving her this ogbono soup with eba,
after that I gently bring out my ring and propose to her,
she will definitely have the energy to say YES 🤩
