Great meeting today with one of our entrepreneur program grads, Elwood. You know how there's often human and animal poop on Vancouver streets? His company, Scat Trapper, cleans it up. He is doing basically one of the most essential jobs for safety and livability downtown. 1

At Scat Trapper, he does essential work for all of us downtown, and he does this while being legally blind. It makes a hard job harder. There are grants out there to help him grow his business, BUT they're all in small print, and he physically can't read them. 3

The one big idea that every prospective mentor has shared, is the importance of keeping ideas small, specific, and with a measurable outcome. There are a million good ideas out there. But the execution of the idea is what really matters. And that's where mentors help. 3

Lots of meetings today with prospective mentors. Mentors are entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, or people who work in that space at universities, angel funds etc... - and they help the entrepreneurs who go through our programs, and guide them on business basics, AND... 1
