Relay Racing isn't just a race against the clock - it's a showcase of cultures, traditions and the power of the horse.
We invite you to be part of this iconic celebration each night at the @ENMAX Relay Races!
Did you know: the Blackfoot word for horse is ponokáómitaa which literally translates to 'elk dog'. Thanks to Hutch Sitting Eagle for teaching us this and many other things about horses and relay racing.
Hutch and his wife Pam from Siksika Nation and Shawn Runner from Tsuut'ina Nation are tipi holders and members of the Calgary Stampede Relay Race Advisory Committee. Thank you to the trio and @calgarystampede for visiting us to share the history of the Relay Races and their experience supporting it.
Join us for the ENMAX Relay Races nightly during the Evening Show to watch the riders and teams in action!

We all wear many hats but we're one community.
As we kick off another exciting Stampede season, ENMAX is proud to power what brings us together. Our @calgarystampede sponsorship supports the action-packed ENMAX Relay Races, the delicious Caravan Breakfasts and the welcoming Pop-Up Neighbour program. There will also be free charging stations on the grounds during the stampede thanks to a partnership with our affiliate, Easymax by ENMAX Energy.
See you at the Stampede! Yahoo!

Substation No. 1 has been powering downtown for more than 100 years. And now with the electrification of the new Substation No. 1, we can continue providing reliable power to support Calgary's growth for decades to come.
Thanks to @ENMAXpower, @GrahamBuilds and our project partners for delivering the project on time and on budget.

It was great to celebrate the grand opening of the new ENMAX Substation No. 1 in #YYC this week.
When Calgary's original Substation No. 1 was built in 1912 (which also happened to be the inaugural year of the Calgary Stampede) it was powering streetcars in a city that was only just beginning to find its footing.
Fast forward over 100 years later, and Calgary's landscape and electricity needs are very different. This new substation will help power the growth of the city well into the future, giving downtown businesses the confidence to grow, invest and build for the future, while ensuring residents have the power they need for many decades to come. ⚡️
⏰🏇 Just 24 hours until the 2026 Relay Races presented by ENMAX hit the track at the Calgary Stampede!
The horses are ready, the riders are ready, and the countdown is on. 🤠🔥
Who will you be cheering for tomorrow? Drop your favourite relay team below! 👇🐴

The Calgary Stampede is almost here! Over the past couple of weeks, we joined @calgarystampede to welcome many new Calgarians from different parts of the world to our city through the Pop-Up Neighbours program presented by ENMAX. It was a chance to share a glimpse of what Western hospitality is all about.
Calgary Stampede is one big celebration of community and everything Calgary, and we all have our favourite things we look forward to each year. Here’s what some of our new neighbours are looking forward to at their first Stampede.

Our crew always steps up to deliver the best for Calgarians. Our reactive vegetation management team recently added to their training with modern tree climbing system and safe felling technique refreshers. These drills help us tackle and remove vegetation that could fall on to power lines causing outages or voltage concerns.

We recently had the honour of learning Hand Games from Blackfoot Elder Sheldon First Rider with support from Forum Community Relations.
A traditional game that is still played today, Hand Games brings people together through strategy, teamwork, and song.
It was a meaningful opportunity to learn, listen, and connect through a tradition that has been passed down for generations. Thank you to Elder Sheldon First Rider for sharing this knowledge with us.
We look forward to participating in the Hand Games competition at the Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary Family Day & Powwow on June 21.

What goes into keeping the lights on? 💡
Our Communications & Community Impact Summer Student learned first-hand by trying out some of the difficult tasks our crew members do day-to-day to power our communities. It’s one way to appreciate our crew members who’re out there every day to keep our communities connected.

The Calgary Stampede Community Round Up presented by @ENMAX brought the community out this past Saturday at the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Centre at Tsuut’ina Nation.
Pancakes were flipping, wagons were rolling, and the morning was filled with live entertainment, crafts, cultural performances and plenty of Stampede spirit! 🤠
A big thank you to our incredible volunteers and community partners who helped make it all happen, and to everyone who came out to join in the fun!
