We've got a Boxing Day treat for you!

The problem is:
The narrative that ANY use of a drug is misuse.
Drug use is complex and the majority of people who use drugs do not have a problem - Either moral or medical.
Reformation through punishment or treatment is not required. Just stop criminalising people. That's all
@HelenClarkNZ@nzdrug People caught in possession of cannabis by law enforcement should not be coerced or forced into ‘treatment’ either.
People who need help should be offered help - but it has to be voluntary.
Entertaining, extremely well informed animation video from Dancewize, Pill Testing Australia & SSDP Australia about #pilltesting. Dr David Caldicott explains basics. Highly recommended. Harm reduction in action

Yesterday was day against the death penalty and so Kayleen White and I had a radio cuppa to discuss the issue and including crossover with this issue for queers.
@salgoldsaidso@3CR Ah crap! Had no idea. There really are days for everything now. If we had of known, i think #Duterte's murder regime would have been topic of the day.
It gets far too little attention here. Scary how easily people can become complacent at death squads roaming neighbourhoods
Each year, we spend:

Two men, who turned out to have driven hundreds of kilometers to reach the beach, told the police they were there “to get some fresh air”.

In a bid for cheap clicks, @CranbourneLDR has published a series of headlines labelling locals who've been penalised for AOD-related infractions "junkies" and "gooned-up alcoholics". Sarah Stivens explains why this finger-pointing is so harmful https://t.co/Md5UZSnlCy
My piece for @AODMediaWatch is now available to read.
When media outlets perpetuate stigma aimed at people who use alcohol and other drugs, the whole community suffers.
Grateful to the AOD MW team for publishing this piece.
The police love a bit of seizure porn (as in, look at all the drugs we seized!!) to continue the illusion that spending so much money on policing isn't a total waste and the wrong way to address drug issues
Seizure porn getting obvious:

A mushroom spore is like a seed—just as you would collect seeds from plants you grow or from wild plants, you can collect and store fungi spores in the form of a spore print. But how exactly do you make a spore print, might you ask? Read our latest how-to: https://t.co/hK5RnnAUsx
