⚖️🏳️⚧️Florida's obsession with attacking transgender people just got called out in court.
A federal judge handed @AGJamesUthmeier another L – and blocked Florida's attempt to punish the American Academy of Pediatrics for supporting evidence-based healthcare for transgender youth.
AG Uthmeier: Floridians deserve facts, not fearmongering. We deserve leaders who believe in our rights and freedoms, not politicians who weaponize their power.

Clearly the Commissioner hasn’t read the settlement that Governor DeSantis’s team signed, clearly stating that his “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” law cannot be used to target LGBTQ content differently from other relationships.
Reading is fundamental.
Thanks to the leadership of @GovRonDeSantis, teachers in Florida are not allowed to instruct first graders on sexual orientation or gender identity.
And if a principal in Florida tried to punish a teacher for refusing to violate the law, the teacher would be protected under the Teacher’s Bill of Rights, another law championed by the Governor.
We are grateful for Florida’s teachers who want to educate and not indoctrinate!

We demand that elected officials at every level speak out clearly and unequivocally. Silence is complicity. This racism must be fully rejected, condemned, and confronted, especially when it is coming from the White House itself. 5/5
We condemn Trump’s vile, racist video depicting President @BarackObama and First Lady @MichelleObama as apes. Trump approved the post, doubled down, and refused to apologize. This was no accident or lapse in judgment. It was intentional and dehumanizing. It's white supremacy. 1/5
That this video was posted during #BlackHistoryMonth makes the act even more reprehensible. This is a time meant to honor the leadership, culture, joy, & innovations of Black Americans who have shaped this nation. Instead, Trump used racist propaganda to demean & dehumanize. 4/5
Parents of trans children urge compassion, not humiliation, in Florida's schools, doctor's offices and government halls at @EqualityFL event

With outrage and sorrow, Equality Florida joins millions of people, community leaders, and elected officials in calling for accountability in the needless and brutal killing of Renee Nicole Good.

We further echo voices across the country demanding meaningful oversight, reform, and accountability at both ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, whose leadership and policies have created the conditions for this violence.
