🌿 To celebrate this special day, we are pleased to share photos of the extremely rare Gobi bear (Mazaalai), captured on April 14, 2026.

🐻 As part of its commitment to protecting and promoting Mongolia’s iconic Mazaalai bear, @erdene_llc signed a MOU in 2024 with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Since then, the Company has been actively supporting conservation efforts through ongoing collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, researchers, and environmental specialists.

🐻 In 2024, Erdene Mongol partnered with “Central TV” to produce and broadcast a documentary series on the Mongolian Mazaalai, organized educational social media competitions for children in Bayankhongor Province. Also, started initiatives to improve wildlife habitats, such as: the development of additional water sources, including the construction of ponds and water points. 💧🌱🌿

🐻 In 2025, Erdene Mongol sponsored the scientific documentary “Guardians of the Great Gobi,” produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Eguur Agency. In June 2025, in partnership with Dr. A. Bayasgalan, a researcher from the Gobi Bear Conservation Society NGO, a satellite tracking collar was fitted on a Mazaalai named “Erdene.” The bear entered hibernation in November and emerged on March 1, 2026, with movement recorded in the Khutsyn Shand area.

🐻 Researchers emphasize that satellite tracking and genetic studies provide valuable insights into the Mazaalai’s behavior, habitat range, and ecology. These efforts play a critical role in improving conservation planning and enabling more accurate population assessments.

📍 He was first introduced to the field of geology while attending a community open day organized by Erdene Mongol LLC, which inspired him to pursue his studies. Erdene Resource Development Corp. has released its Q3 results.

Following the first gold pour at the Bayan Khundii mine in Mongolia on September 14, just ten years after its discovery, both the mine and processing plant are performing in line with expectations. The company remains on track to reach nameplate capacity by year-end.

Now with Bayan Khundii running smoothly, the company's focus is set to turn to exploration to expand and extend Bayan Khundii, with 9,300 metres of drilling planned across the Khundii Mining License.

Erdene is also advancing its wholly owned projects.  In October, Erdene announced an updated independent mineral resource estimate for its Zuun Mod Molybdenum-Copper project, confirming the project as one of Asia’s largest undeveloped projects. Drilling is now underway on the Zuun Mod project and the initial surface program is continuing at Tereg Uul, near Oyu Tolgoi, one of the world's largest copper-gold deposits. Work at Dark Horse and Altan Nar is also set to continue into 2026.

The tree-planting initiative is progressing successfully. In Erdeneshand bagh, local resident Mr. Gankhuyag, together with his children, has cultivated one hectare of land, planting six species of trees and shrubs, including saxaul, tamarisk, poplar, elm, sea buckthorn, and currant.

Mrs. G. Altantuul, his daughter-in-law, who oversees the daily care and upkeep of the plantation, shared her thoughts: “Planting trees is something I can pass on to my children and leave as a legacy in the land where I was born and raised.”

Protecting endangered species requires close collaboration with scientists and continuous research.

Through our partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, we support conservation work, including collaring Gobi bears.

This June, one bear was successfully collared in the Bayantooroi area.

Scientists note that genetic studies, satellite tracking, and camera monitoring in recent years have given valuable insights into the Gobi bear’s lifestyle, habitat, and behavior.

🌱 Growing Native Plants in the Gobi with Local Communities

Erdene Mongol is working with Shinejinst soum residents to grow native plants suited to the Gobi Desert, using seeds and cuttings.

🎓 Shinejinst Students Join Summer Internship Program for Third Consecutive Year

👤 E. Duurenbayar: “This is my second year participating in the program. I really appreciate how it focuses on making a positive impact on the development of our local community.”

👩‍⚕️👨‍💼 This year, around 20 students have joined the program, gaining hands-on experience while working with local organizations such as the Governor’s Office and the Health Center.
